Eugenia Piantieri

Eugenia Piantieri, or Jean as she was called by most friends and family, was 55 years-old when the world was robbed of her presence. The daughter of a military man she and her twin brother Marvin lived on Guam until they were seven-years-old and their father was transferred to an installation in California. Those who remember her from High School remember her by her maiden name of Jean McCann. She was a member of both the Drama and Commercial Clubs her senior year. Later she met and married Anthony Piantieri.
These are just a few of the fact from the life of a wonderful lady. While interesting they can sound a bit dry to anyone that did not have the pleasure of knowing Jean. Such facts overlook the fact that she had unique personality that was both outgoing and charming and that made people thankful just for the privilege of being in her presence. They speak nothing at all about a woman that despite being fifty-five years-old, still had a whimsical side which could be seen by how much she enjoyed the movie Funny Girl or in the fact that she still loved to tease her cousin Polly by reminding her of all the misdeeds she carried out as a child. Simple facts say little of her love of laughter or how her own smile and laughter enhanced her own natural beauty.
A listing of simple facts do not speak clearly to the extra personal effort she extended to help her cousin secure a job at Raytheon where she was employed at the time. The simple facts of this beautiful life do not explain the ability and desire she had to make visitors to her home feel not only welcome, but as if they were at home. It is difficult to realize how much she loved her adopted city, New York or how much she enjoyed walking through the city at night with friends. A simple statement of fact does little to help us understand how much she loved and enjoyed her new job at Marsh-McLennan Insurance on the 97th floor of tower one of the World Trade Center.
I never had the privilege of meeting Jean but I have no doubt I would have liked and respected her and that she was a person that led a life that deserves to be celebrated. Hers was a life that brought joy and comfort to many many others and made this world a better place.

Despite all that is going on in the world and our own nation, people in the liberal news rooms across the nation have nothing to do. I assume large numbers of them are playing solitaire, computer games, maybe building replicas of little ships in bottles. No matter which of these fine activities the many left leaning journalist are engaging in, a few of their number seem to have become so bored with the lack of worthwhile activity that they have started searching the archives for stories to write about.

It seems that various news papers and electronic news services have discovered some “new” pictures from Abu Ghraib and the abuse that took place there. These pictures don’t show anything new, don’t implicate any person that has not already been investigated and adjudicated in the matter. Com’on guys, a crime occurred, was investigated and the guilty have been arrested, tried and are or have been punished accordingly. It’s over. It’s history. Let’s move on with life.

Dick Cheney and the
Quail Wrangler Gang

Dick Cheney, our nation’s Vice President had the nerve to go quail hunting this past weekend. Not only did he have the audacity to engage in a relaxing activity, he (get ready) used a gun. I know, all of the wonderful liberals and tree huggers have been telling us for years that hunting, if it must be done at all, should only be done with a slingshot with two broken rubber bands. What can I say? The VP is old and stuck in the ways of the pioneers. This isn’t the real crime though. It seems some of our Vice President’s bird shot struck one of his hunting buddies. To be sure, a far from insignificant event.

The liberals, having left their common sense and good taste in another suit, are trying their best to make this story sound like Cheney pulled off a drive-by shooting in his low-riding bullet proof limo. The event unfolded something like this. The Vice President along with several friends were hunting quail in a straight line manner. Mr. Whittington dropped out of line without saying a word to anybody to look for a downed bird in tall grass. He then rejoined the line of hunters without saying anything to anybody, and in so doing walked into the Vice President’s line of fire. At the moment the Vice President fired Mr. Whittington was standing in a gully, making him much lower on the landscape that he would normally have been. This made him harder to see and more in line with the path of a rising quail. That’s all there was to it, period!

Now some would have the public believe otherwise. Based on nothing more than the fact that Mr. Cheney didn’t immediately go running out to the press pool screaming “I shot a man, I shot a man!” Instead the injured man was taken to the hospital (what without a press conference?) and Cheney spoke with law enforcement officials the following day. Gilbert San Miguel, chief deputy of the Kenedy County Sheriff’s Office said that there was no misconduct, no alcohol involved, this was simply a hunting accident. The stupidity doesn’t stop here though. David Finn, a former Texas and federal prosecutor says that a grand jury could bring an indictment if “there is evidence the Vice President knew or should have known ‘there was a substantial or unjustifiable risk that his actions would result in him shooting a fellow hunter.’” The proper authorities have already labeled this an accident and this fool is screaming for a grand jury. Whoever took the liberals string away from them needs to give it back so they’ll have something to play with.

SCUZLIMS AND CARTOONS

There has been a lot of talk lately in the liberal press about all the fuss the scuzlims are creating over a few less than flattering cartoons of the “prophet” mohammed that ran in a Danish news paper some five months ago (yes, five months). They have been rioting and trying to destroy the property of anyone that isn’t a brother scuzlim. Just today three people died in Pakistan as a result of their murderous ways and there are many others dead over the last two weeks or so because of the scuzlims and their hatred of anything intelligent. They claim that no one has the right to create an image of ol’mohammed the vile. What the heck are they talking about? I mean, if they want to keep images of their main dude out of their cult that’s all well and good but what right do they have to tell you, me, the Danish, or anyone else what we can and can’t create and/or publish?

Not only are there people dying as a result of the unlawful rioting of the scuzlims, the “religion” that all this is based on is no more than a cult and worship of a man that himself admitted that most of his ramblings while at first claimed to be of God, he later admitted they were demonic utterances. The Koran, the book mohammed used to record his demonic words still claims that mohammed is the “prophet of God,” however; God’s True Word clearly states that Jesus is His Messenger, His Son, and the only way to God. Not only that, the Koran written some seven hundred years after Christ, violates God’s word by its very existence. In Revelation God clearly states that no one should take away from His word, and by claiming that there is another way to heaven other than Jesus, takes away all that the New Testament brings us.

The next issue that needs to be kept in mind is the character of mohammed himself, the character that all this scuzlim nonsense is based on. Mohammed was a pedophile. He married a girl when she was six (6!) years-old. When her father objected (how dare he?) suddenly dear ol’mohammed claimed that the whole marrying a child idea was God’s. Now it should be said in mohammed’s defense that he waited till the girl was the ripe old age of nine (9) before he consummated the marriage physically. What a sweetie! Just to be sure that he had his followers fooled into thinking it was right for him to molest a nine-year-old, he wrote in the koran “There is no fault in the prophets wives.” Another interesting fact is that the scuzlims will claim that their god, mohammed, ascended into heaven from what the Hebrews call the Temple Mount and they call the dome of the rock. History records things a little differently though. It seems that he was poisoned by the wife of one of his murder victims. The really important thing is that Christ’s tomb is empty, mohammed’s is still occupied.

Let’s take just a quick look at the cult itself. The scuzlims claim that theirs is a religion of peace. I guess that depends on how you define peace. The koran, their “holy” book gives very explicit instructions as to how to handle unbelievers, and by unbelievers they mean anyone that doesn’t believe exactly as they do, kill them. Don’t explain the cult to them, don’t try and convert them, just kill them. Well, I guess if they’re good enough at it they will have peace, they’ll be the only ones left. I firmly believe that in reality that is exactly what they want. To kill each and every one of us that dares to believe in truth rather than a pedophiliac murderer named mohammed. The koran also teaches that if someone does something that is offensive to them (probably what they are basing their rioting on) they should seek revenge. However, the Bible, God’s true word, says clearly and repeatedly that revenge is God’s (Lev. 19:18, Prov. 24:29, Rom. 12:17, I Thess. 5:15, I Peter 3:9, Deut. 32:35, Ps. 94:1, Ezek. 25:17, Michah 5:15, Nahum 1:2, Rom. 12:19, II Thess. 1:8, and Heb. 10:30). Even his beginnings in life seem to have been surrounded by violence. It seems that just weeks before he was born his father died a sudden and violent death. You have to admit that does raise questions about whether or not the man that died was really his father. In that time and place such a situation certainly wouldn’t have been unique.

Perhaps someday, some great day of enlightenment for these people, they will realize that by worshipping mohammed, they are worshipping Satan himself.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

There’s been a lot of talk lately in the news media and on the talk shows about Iran and their drive to restart their nuclear enrichment program. Our government does have satellite photos of buildings being constructed for this very purpose. In the west there has mainly been talk about how they should end the program once and for all or there could be stiff sanctions from the U. N. You remember the United Nations. It’s that big building in New York that has so much power to enforce its will on member nations. If the offending nation doesn’t comply they pull out all the stops and a bunch of old men and women sit around and say bad things about you in 200 different languages, sometimes these mean words are actually put in print. This drastic measure is most likely responsible for the UN’s long and distinguished record of success. Even the French are upset with Iran and are considering taking direct action to force the Iranian government to dismantle the enrichment program. Rumors coming out of France indicate that the French government is going to give Iran 48 hours to dismantle the entire program before they take decisive action. Although no government official will confirm or deny it, some well placed individuals say that at precisely 4: 00 PM on the day following the expiration of the deadline, all French citizens will leave whatever buildings they are in, turn toward Tehran and stick out their tongues. The French have not taken such a drastic action in many years. The most recent example was in 1943 against the German occupiers. However, it should be noted that as determined as the French were, the decision to stick out their tongues in secret was considered acceptable.
The idea of the Iranian government starting a nuclear enrichment program and particularly the line up of nations decrying their actions put me to thinking of something I read in the fifty-first chapter of Jeremiah. The entire chapter is a prophesy outlining the destruction of the land of Babylon, which was partially located in the land we know today as Iran. Several of the verses speak directly to the time when Babylon will be destroyed, and I believe, bear looking at while keeping current events in mind. I want to make it clear I am making no predictions, no statements that should be considered an absolute as to what may or may not happen as a result of the world wide opposition to Iran’s renewed nuclear enrichment program. All I intend is to list some known facts and ask that you take time alone, some genuine quiet time to mull them over.
In verse one God (through Jeremiah) warns that he will send foreigners to “willow her and to devastate her land.” (see also Isaiah 13:9) If, and remember I am saying IF, anyone intervenes to put a stop to Iran’s nuclear program, it will be done by foreigners. This one verse is hardly conclusive but let’s continue through the rest of this rather lengthy dissertation. Verse nine says that “For her judgment reaches to the skies, it rises as high as the clouds” (see also Revelation 18: 1-8). Alone this is rather hard to envision and most liberal theologians today will say it should be understood as allegorical rather than descriptive. Just for fun though let’s keep in mind how Israel, England, and the United States like to use direct “surgical” air strikes to deal with problems within the borders of another nation. If, by some weird set of circumstances such a strike set off nuclear reaction, such an event could result in a genuine nuclear explosion that would produce a mushroom cloud that, just like in the pictures we’ve all seen, reaches to the clouds. Again, just something to think about.
Moving on through the chapter we come to verse twenty-six which says in part “for you will be desolate forever, declares the LORD.” If the nuclear explosion mentioned above did happen, there is no doubt that the resulting radiation would leave the land empty and desolate since nothing could live in a land that is contaminated with radioactivity. Even without the highly unlikely event of an accidental nuclear blast, there is still reason to be concerned with the idea of a “surgical” strike against any nuclear processing facility. This is particularly true when dealing with a nation like Iran where its leaders are more concerned with results than the safety of those producing the results.
I’m sure you are familiar with the concept of a “dirty bomb.” A dirty bomb consists of some type of conventional explosive such as dynamite and some type of nuclear material. The idea is for the explosion of the dynamite to spread the radioactive material over a wide area, killing or making seriously ill as many people as possible. In the various scenarios that the government web pages lay out for a dirty bomb, they set their parameters based on the person setting off the explosion using something along the line of waste material from some type of x-ray machine. As bad as this may be, possibly contaminating several city blocks, such a source is at the low end of the radioactive scale. The material Iran is working with, is working to make even more concentrated and deadly than it already is, is at the high end of the scale, which is of course, is an entirely different matter.
Let’s go back to those surgical air strikes again. Just suppose one of our nation’s more powerful conventional weapons struck the building where this enrichment program is being carried out. Our nation’s intelligence gathering sources tell us that when complete the building in question will contain fifty thousand centrifuges (that’s 50,000) working to enrich their plutonium. An explosion of such force, in the midst of such a massive amount of high yield plutonium could spread deadly nuclear material over a large area with the initial explosion, and then contaminate hundreds or even thousands of square miles as it is dispersed by the desert winds. A radioactive event of this nature would undoubtedly make the contaminated land impossible to live in, leaving it desolate and barren for thousands of years.
I’ve always noticed that when God repeats Himself, particularly in a short space such as one chapter of the Bible, it is something worth taking special notice of. Verse twenty-nine says “for the Lord’s purposes against Babylon stand – to lay waste the land of Babylon so that no one will live there.” In verse thirty-seven God says of Babylon “an object of horror and scorn, a place where no one lives” (see also Isaiah 13: 22). He continues in verse forty-three with “Her towns will be desolate, … a land where no one lives.” God raps up this declaration against Babylon with these words in verse sixty-two, “O Lord, you have said you will destroy this place, so that neither man nor animal will live in it; it will be desolate forever.” With the half life of this type of plutonium, the use of the word forever is not at all unreasonable.
Again I want to state that I am not saying that the end of the world is coming, that the sky is falling, that the rapture will occur at such and such a time. I am merely outlining some facts that have come to my attention. I am keeping in mind that Jesus said, “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24: 36). I ask that you do the same as you consider the facts I have outlined.

SPECIAL NOTE

Representative John Murtha of Pennsylvania recently stood up in congress and demanded that American troops turn tail and run from the fight for freedom in Iraq. Knowing that criminals such as are carrying out the bombings and attacks in Iraq will use this type of comment to recruit and inspire their members this can be considered to be anything less than a traitorous act. Although few people read this site, I demand an official and straight forward answer to why this traitor has not been arrested and charged with treason and giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Everybody seems to want to get in line just so they can say George Bush lied when he was telling Congress and the American people about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and the danger they and Sadam Hussein was to the United States. Such accusations may make for good press (unless the press has an unusual tendency towards honesty), and of course great fodder for the Democratic party and their hatred for anything honest and intelligent. Just to be different, let’s say we have a bizarre urge to be right, let’s look at some of the facts of the matter.

First off, when an exhaustive investigation of the matter was carried out by a bipartisan Senate committee, it was found that there was solid and credible information that Sadam Hussein had or was developing weapons of mass destruction. This conclusion was also reached by a separate British commission headed by Lord Butler. Also of interest is the fact that at the time he supplied information to Congress on this matter the totality of the information that Bush was privy to was far more alarming than what he revealed to Congress.

It should also be noted that the intelligence services of Britain, France (yeah, the cowards that hid in the closet), and Germany believed that Sadam had or was developing weapons of mass destruction prior to our invasion. They came to their conclusions on their own, with their own information, without encouragement from our government.

Lastly, the same bipartisan committee mentioned above, the one headed by Silberman and Robb, found that in no instance did the president ask or indicate that the intelligence community should alter or “buff up” their reports. So, the long and the short of it is that all these accusations by the Democrats (really that’s Dumbocrats but I’m trying to be nice) are 100% fabrication. In other words, they’re lying through their teeth to hurt the Republicans in the 2006 House and Senate races. You might want to make a note of that in your long range planner.


Anyone who has read this blog regularly knows that I am an unabashed Bush supporter, however, anyone can be wrong and when it comes to the issue of what to do about our border with Mexico, he is way off the mark. We do not need “guest worker” programs, we do not need less stringent immigration laws, we do not need to understand the plight of the Mexican immigrant. We need to see these people for what they are, criminals. When they cross our border illegally they are, as the word illegally indicates, breaking the law. We need to treat them as such and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

Aside from the fact that we are not dealing with innocent people seeking a better life (if that is what they wanted they would expend their energy working to make their own country a better place to live) but criminals that want no more than all the money they can get their hands on. If you are wondering about this remember that Mexico’s largest income produce is money being sent back there from this country. There are other areas of concern within this larger matter of the porous border though. I have listed just a few of the things that show how vital the closing this border is:
Recently, a routine search at a checkpoint turned up 251 bundles of marijuana.
An immigrant was recently apprehended who was carrying a duffle bag containing three axes and three loaded guns.
The criminals themselves are in danger. In the fiscal year just ended 460 people died trying to cross the border. Considering all factors including the type of terrain, the real figure could be two to three times higher. The disease factor these corpses present to our country is terrifying.
Our Border Patrol agents have been attacked 687 times in the past year, almost double the figure of 384 from the year before.
Admiral James Loy, the former number two man at the Department of Homeland Security has said that intelligence strongly suggest that al Qaeda is eyeing the southern border as a “path of least resistance” to a strike inside the United States.
In the fiscal year that just ended, the Border Patrol had 155,000 arrests of illegal immigrants from countries “other than Mexico.” Six hundred and forty nine of these were from “special interest countries” (those that support, harbor, or spawn terrorists) including Afghanistan, Iraq, and Yemen.

In order to protect this nations security, its health and the economy several steps must be taken. They will not be easy, they will not be cheap, but we must act before we have an economic event that will make the depression look like a minor blip on the financial timeline. We must make sure our borders are secure before the criminals of al Qaeda manage to smuggle a nuclear or biological weapon across the border and initiate an attack that will make 9/11 pale in comparison. We must seal our borders before the rotting corpses of these criminals cause an epidemic that makes the flu outbreak of the early twentieth century seem mild in contrast.

One of the first things that needs to done is to get the appropriate experts to determine what, of all the technological advances of the last few years can be used to help detect criminals crossing our borders. I will not claim I have a technical background sufficient to outline just what we can do along these lines. However, I am certain such things as unmanned aerial vehicles, satellite imaging, motion detectors, thermal imaging devices, and many other gadgets can aid our Border Patrol in stemming the tide of incoming criminals. On the less technical side, areas of the border with solid fencing seem to have lower rates of intrusion and higher rates of apprehension and arrest. I do know that such fences can be electrified and use solar energy to keep cost and power distribution issues to a minimum.

We need to arrest and detain ALL criminals coming across our border. By criminal I mean anyone that is entering or attempting to enter this country illegally. For those that are beginning the “Where will we house them all?” song and dance, let’s look at history and see what can be done to mute that tired old tune. In the early days of World War II, when our nation was desperately scrambling to amass and train a military sufficient to mount a two front war they erected “temporary” housing for these new troops. These wooden structures, sufficient to house fifty-five recruits, had a life expectancy of three to five years before they would need replacement. Thirty years later, when I was serving in the Air Force, these structures were still standing and serving us well. They were strong and solid shelters against the weather as well as having the needed amenities for hygiene and sanitation. They were not luxurious, but they were never intended to be and had no need to be. There is no reason that several facilities consisting of dozens of these same type structures could not be built in the southwest to house the criminals apprehended along our borders.

We always activate various National Guard or Reserve units to help in a post disaster relief and clean up. There is no reason that the same cannot be done to patrol our borders. The damage to our economy and infrastructure being done by these foreign criminals is no less than that of a hurricane such as Katrina or Rita.
They have the equipment and the necessary training cannot be that major of an undertaking.

We must also, at the earliest possible opportunity, authorize our Border Patrol, local law enforcement, and whatever military is called in to assist, to use maximum force to apprehend and detain any person trying to illegally enter this country or flee from arrest. Also, and this will be less popular, we must deny citizenship to children of all persons criminally residing in this country, retroactive to for twenty-one years prior to implementation of this policy. This includes denying these children the medical care and bilingual education they are now receiving at your expense. To make sure this is understood, and that such services are not a continuing draw to the criminal element, we must use every means possible to disseminate this information to the illegal immigration network and community.

The Mexican government must be made to understand that unless they begin heavy and constant enforcement of immigration laws on their side of the border, all trade agreements are suspended. All economic aid, international loan repayment forgiveness programs and other economic incentives will be suspended until they are in total compliance with our border policies.

As I mentioned before, not all of the criminals crossing our border are from Mexico. Some countries, particularly those in Asia refuse to take their esteemed citizens back when we try and deport them. In such cases the person in question should be put on a flight to his/her homeland by U. S. Marshals, and then the planes exits guarded until the flight is in the air. Facial recognition software at all airports that have incoming flights from these countries should be able to handle our “No Return” policy. Trade and economic policies similar to those suggested for use against Mexico could also be instituted used against nations not wanting to accept responsibility for their own citizens.

The crisis of our porous borders is one of enormous magnitude. It affects every aspect of our society, causing us to spiral down into the very sewers from which it emanates. We must act, and we must act soon.

Great news from the scientific community. It seems that researchers in Portugal have developed a vaccine that fights tooth decay in rats. Finally! I was beginning to think science was ignoring this critical issue. I was concerned because there’s a opossum that lives under my house that never brushes his teeth after meals. I’ve tried to teach him and warn him of the dangers but he just won’t listen. Even the stories of how much teasing he would suffer from all the other opossums when he has to gum his food hasn’t convinced him to do better. He doesn’t seem to understand that I can’t afford dentures for him when his teeth all fall out. With this new vaccine I don’t have to worry about it anymore.



A lot of people are upset because American troops recently found and liberated an Iraqi controlled detention center where the “detainees” (we call the people we have arrested there and in Afghanistan detainees also. Let’s be honest, they are prisoners.) appeared to be malnourished and some appear to have suffered some form or torture. I have no idea whether or not these people have been tortured, and if so it should stop, however, there does seem to be one issue that is being overlooked. This is an Iraqi run prison. These people are ones that according to the current government that have committed some type of crime. Since we are there to liberate the country, to allow them to establish there own laws and governmental systems? If so, why not let them do that? Torture is wrong but if we are there to let them create a real government with the respect of the people, shouldn’t we allow them to do it their way even if we don’t agree with it?



I’m sure you’ve heard of all the rioting in France and now spreading to Germany. This is all being done by people of North African or Arabian ancestry. That’s right, Muslims. They are upset because they have not been “allowed” to assimilate fully into the French culture. Assimilate on their own terms of course which is to be fully vested as citizens, with all the rights and privileges pertaining thereto. All the while of course they want to remain as freakishly different as . . . . . well. . . . . . they are.

They gripe about things like discrimination in hiring. They say that as soon as the name is seen to be Muslim in origin the response from prospective employers is always the same, silence. This sounds unfair to be sure but let’s look at one other thing before we see this as just more of the Muslim cry baby personality. France (and I have no great love for the cowardly French) have spent billions (yes billions with a B) on the communities where the Muslims live. They have invested in the infrastructure, schools, poverty programs etc. Yet still the cry baby Muslims continue to gripe they aren’t getting a fair shake. Yeah right!

One gripe is that at some of the high schools the failure rate is ninety percent. Now these schools have been built in the last few years, are as good or better than those in other parts of France. They are also equipped with the same type of supplies and technology as the rest of French schools. What do they want? Someone to come in and pound the knowledge into the kids brains? Take their test for them? Give them special test that it is know they will do well on? This last one may be the answer. We could give dear little 17 year old Achmed a chemistry test with one very difficult essay question. “Is water wet?” There is a chance that he will pass such a test.

A Few Words on This and That

There’s news from the medical community that can be seen as either good or bad, depending on your viewpoint. They have developed a procedure to test for and determine if a fetus has Downs Syndrome at only 11 weeks of gestation. This will allow those parents who are having such a child to learn and prepare for the challenge that lays ahead for them. For those associated with Murder Incorporated aka the abortion industry or a woman’s “right to choose” it will give them another chance to kill an unborn child.



Remember the three hotel bombings in Jordan that killed 56 people? Well, the people are not happy about them and are particularly upset with Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and the al-Qaeda organization itself for committing these murders. Way to go Jordan citizenry! It will be interesting to see how this affects the funding and number of people “volunteering” to blow themselves up in the coming months. Far to many of our Arab friends support this gang of thugs.

In line with supporting the scum who go around killing the innocent because they don’t have the intelligence of a rock, Saudi Arabia is also in the news. It seems congress if finally taking a good long look at that nation that claims to be our friend while supporting terrorist groups. They also export one of the most radical fundamentalist sects of Islam and support world wide jihad to wipe out Christians and Jews. These people aren’t our friends and never have been. Here in Missouri our governor, the boy wonder Matt Blunt decided that he would balance the budget by depriving the most needy of medical care. Some of the fun things that have happen since the cuts went into affect are:
1. One man has committed suicide because he had to go off the medication he could not afford. (I said earlier that
people would die from these cuts and it looks like I was right. I so wish it weren’t so. His blood is on your hands Matt.)
2. A child (yes a child) had to wait for five months for needed psychological counseling. He is just one of many.
3. A man that had been badly burned lost the physical therapy that was keeping the scar tissue from drawing his hands into a claw as it contracted. Both his little fingers are now badly deformed beyond the scarring and will have to be amputated.

How someone could be as young as Matt Blunt and yet be so stupid staggers the imagination. He must have really worked hard at it.



Just before the elections last year a California preacher delivered a sermon against the war in Iraq. He has always been anti-war dating from the days of Vietnam so this is nothing new. He did not encourage anyone to vote or not vote for either presidential candidate, just spoke against the war. Now the IRS, you remember the “more user friendly” IRS is threatening the church’s tax exempt status.

So much for freedom of speech!!!!



Let’s go back to the war for just a moment. This hasn’t been picked up, or rather has been overlooked by the liberal media, but New York Times best selling author Richard Miniter states in his new book “Disinformation” that the following have been found:
 1.77 metric tons of enriched uranium
 1,500 gallons of chemical weapons
 Roadside bombs filled with sarin gas
 1,000 radio active materials suited for “dirty” bombs
 17 chemical warheads, some with cyclosarin gas which is FIVE times as potent as sarin gas itself.

Hi readers. I've been a very bad boy and not posted anything regular for a long time. I'm sorry about this and will try and do beter but sometimes it seems to not really make any difference any way. I have recieved a lot of nice comments of late and I cannot possibly tell you how much I appreciate each and every one of them. Despite my lack of enthusiasm they do make me see some reason to keep writing and will work on being back more often.

One thing I did want to make a comment on. Even before the winds of Hurricane Katrina had died away people were complaining that the response was too slow and that help was distrubuted on a racial basis. There are two things we need to remember: (1) The mayor of New Orleans (as stupid a man that has ever drawn breath) is an African American and (2) as soon as they name a hurricane Jasmeka, Taisha, Nashawna, Rashan, Jamal, or Shandrel there will be room for gripping.

Again, thanks for all the positive feedback and I'll work hard to do better.

It’s been well known for sometime that our nation has been going to hell in a hand basket. Recent events have made me re-think this matter and I now realize that a more accurate analogy would be going hell on a high speed monorail.
I live in a rural county with a population of about eighty-five hundred. Aside from a bit of snobbery towards anyone not from a well established local family, it’s always seemed about as close as you can get to Mayberry U. S. A. This past Friday my ten-year-old granddaughter brought home the following note from school:

ATTENTION . . . . . . .ATTENTION . . . . . . . ATTENTION

Dear Parents,

On Thursday, August 25, in Fair Play (a nearby town) a man tried to take a female student from the school. This was the second attempted abduction in our area recently.

We want you to know that we are taking many precautions here at our school. Our faculty and staff have been made aware of the situation and are very knowledgeable of our safety procedures. Our students also have been made aware about the dangers of talking to strangers, and we would encourage parents to discuss this with them as well. We will be practicing “lock-down” drills from time to time with the students and all our outside doors are kept locked allowing entry through the only front doors. All visitors must sign in and wear a visitors tag.

For the safety of your child you must call the school in the mornings of your child is not going to be at school. If you don’t, we will be calling you.

We are very concerned and will continue to be vigilant in this matter.

Elementary Principal

This happened at an elementary school, a school with our youngest and most vulnerable children. The almost victim was a seven-year-old girl.

When I was this age I walked more than half a mile to and from school each day. Many other children walked much farther and never once do I remember hearing of any child being accosted during my entire time in elementary school. The only untoward incident of any type is when a young boy was being a boy and carelessly ran into the street without looking. He was hit by a car and spent only a couple of days in the hospital. Never was there a warning of strangers trying to abduct a child, or even of an angry parent trying to grab their child because of disagreements with their former spouse. We were far more concerned with the “Red Menace” and imminent nuclear attack.

For me school was a place to learn all of those things that I’d never use again in my life, to meet with old friends and build new friendships, and a place above all else where we felt as safe as we were when we were at home with our parents.

The same day I learned of this incident I witnessed something else that not only sickened me but cast a cloud of blackness over my heart. My daughter, who I have always believed loved and cared for her children as much or more than could be possible, proved me to be very much in error on this matter. I watched in shock as she allowed her seven-year-old son to rush through dinner so he could get back to his video game. The game he was playing is called “Grand Theft Auto,” in which the idea seems to be to steal as many cars as possible and being required to kill innocent people in order to accomplish this “mission.” It is full of graphic violence, the foulest of language, and the most depraved set of morals that has ever been foisted on a complacent and uncaring parent in the name of “entertainment.”

I love my daughter more than words can express and had always thought of her as a good and caring mother. Now, however, I see that although she may love her four children she like so many others would rather give in to what is easy rather than do what is harder but right. Giving in is easier than doing the work of raising them with proper values despite what “everyone else is doing.” It is obvious that being a buddy or giving in to that old argument of “everyone is doing it” is easier than taking a stand for what is right and risk her children being upset with her. She would rather be “a cool mom” instead of doing what is best for her children.

When I questioned the appropriateness of the language my son-in-law was actually stupid enough say that if they don’t hear it in the game they will hear it on television, or at school and that it wasn’t as bad as language as is in some other games. He said that quantity was the only issue, not quality. From these deeply moronic thoughts I guess it will be fine with him and my daughter if the children decide to become homosexuals since they are told in school and on television that it is an acceptable life style. I thought I had taught my daughter that what other people say and do is up to them but it does not make it right or acceptable. That real people are willing to stand apart, to emphasize quality rather than quantity and that taking the easy way out, such as giving in to children who are supposed to be the learners not the teachers, seldom leads to good results. I thought I had taught her that being like everyone else, that being a sheep and following blindly behind the “leader” led only to slaughter. I really thought I had conveyed the message that being right was far superior to being a lemming and blindly rushing towards the sea.

Our country has been inundated with perversion at every level. It is in our schools, our government, our entertainment, and our families. I did what I could to teach my daughter what is right, what is the proper way to view life but obviously I failed in that endeavor. Like so many other parents she has decided that doing the back breaking, never ending work to raise your kids with real values is to hard. She has decided that letting the child make the decisions is easier than doing the real work of parenting. I knew this foolish attitude had struck countless families across this nation, I guess I had allowed myself to become blind to the fact that my own family is dying of this cancer as well.

In short, with schools being forced to guard against pedophiles kidnapping children for their own sick pleasures, with parents letting the kids make all the decisions, with morals nothing more than an obscure word in the dictionary that has no meaning any longer, only one conclusion can be drawn. Our nation has no future. Kruschev once said that “they (the Soviet Union) would bury” us. They didn’t get around to it before their own nation fell but it really doesn’t matter. Our heart has ceased to function, we’ve dug the hole, now all that is left is for us to pull the dirt in on top of ourselves.

Health Care Cost

I just came from a meeting about health care costs and how the state (Missouri in this case) can’t continue to pick up the tab for uninsured or underinsured individuals. I’ll admit right up front that medical care no matter who picks up the tab is outrageously expensive. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say that it costs substantially more than it needs to and more than is justifiable. Yes, more than is justifiable. There are a lot of reasons why it cost more than it should with blame at every level in the medical hierarchy. From the doctor to the hospital, from the manufacturers to the distributors of medical supplies, from the insurance companies to the malpractice attorneys there is plenty of blame to share. The tragedy in all this blame-sharing is that there is one reason common to all levels of the medical care pyramid, greed.
The doctor carries part of the blame because he/she is of the belief that the simple fact that they chose to go to medical school, an admittedly long and arduous process, means they deserve to live in a $250,000 house and drive a $50,000 Mercedes. They don’t. I do not deny that they go through much to get to the point where they can practice medicine; however, it was their choice. No one put a gun to their head, no one blackmailed them into becoming a doctor. They must realize that their obligation to their patients supersedes any right they falsely think they have to a certain monetary reward.
The hospital must realize that they do not have a right to charge a patient for expenses that have nothing to do with direct patient care. When they order medical supplies at a specific price they do not have the right to charge the patient five times that amount for the item claiming that the extra is going for “administrative” costs a one dollar box of bandages should not return the hospital $400 dollars. I have actually seen hospitals charge five dollars for a bandage that can be bought for one dollar for a box of 30 by the average consumer. At the very least this is mismanagement; and at worst price gouging. Whichever way you view it, it is still wrong and must stop.
Manufacturers of medical supplies have no right to charge ten dollars for their widget because it is being sold to a medical supply company, while selling the same item to an office supply store for two dollars. That medical supply company has no right to charge the hospital or clinic fifty dollars for that widget they bought for ten dollars because they must keep track of which widget went to which buyer. It just simply does not cost that much to type a tracking number into a computer database and even less with today’s scanning devices. The only reason both practices continue is because people assume that medical care must be expensive to be good. This belief is a lie perpetrated by the people and the greed of which we are speaking. Medical care must be proper, must be appropriate, must be individualized, but not expensive to be good.
Insurance companies, those that supply medical coverage for individuals or groups and are staffed with actuaries, accountants and countless individuals with a MBA, have no right to tell a doctor which test or treatment he can order for his patient. They have no right to say you can be in the hospital for this many days but no longer, or you can have this medication but not that one. This practice is dictated by the desire to keep cost down because that keeps their profits up and that is their only concern. Since medical insurance companies are making record profits it is easy to see why they wish to continue their dictatorial practices. Their refusal to pay more than their own preset amount (and this is also true for Medicare, Medicaid, MediCal, etc.) causes the health care providers to charge others the amount they feel they are being shorted and driving up cost across the board.
Attorneys have no right to take and pursue “malpractice” cases for no more reason than they know they can force the hospital or doctor’s insurance company to settle out of court and earn them a nice 33% of the settlement for a few hours work on the phone. Medical personnel do make mistakes, they can be careless or unskilled in the task at hand, but not even ten percent as often as what the lawyers would have you believe. The money these lawyers extort from medical facilities and personnel at all levels is no more than a monument to their greed, a greed that is comparable to, and no different than, the blood lust of a psychopathic killer.
As you can see, when the politicians start the song and dance about only so much money available and something must be cut they are cutting from the wrong place. Until all other problems are addressed they have no right to demand that their budget be balanced on the backs of the uninsured individuals. They have no right to tell you that you don’t deserve the same quality of care as does the lawyer that gave five thousand dollars to their campaign. They have no right to tell you that your life is less valuable than that of the insurance agent that never questions their “hail damage” claim. They have no right to decide that you will die at a younger age because of lack of preventive care than does the doctor that makes sure that their Xanax prescription stays current.
Matt Blunt, the governor of Missouri believes that some are less entitled to medical care than others. Ed Emory, the state congressman for my district agrees with him. Their salaries haven’t changed, their per diem accounts are as large as ever, their staff is as large as before and yet people are being turned out of health care facilities and dropped from health care plans to help balance a state budget that carries enough pork to feed all of Europe. These men are not only not representing their constituents properly, they are betraying them. They are no better than the greedy manufacturers charging more because they are selling to a medical supply company. No better than the lawyers who don’t care about the law but only about what they can extort from a hospital or doctor because it’s easier than going to court. No more qualified to decide who is or isn’t worth giving medical care than the leaders of insurance companies making decisions about medical matters of which they have no knowledge or experience.
Next year Mr. Ed Emory State Representative is up for a job evaluation. It’s called an election. With luck and enough persons listening to the facts he will get a failing grade on that evaluation.

A SPECIAL BONUS

The Presbyterian Church USA recently advised several companies in which they own considerable amounts of stock that either they quit selling items and technology to Israel that can be used against the Palestinians or else the church would divest itself of their stock. Theoretically this will scare the companies into doing what the church demands although why one investor selling out would concern a major corporation is difficult to comprehend. This is what the Presbyterians call their way of staying “neutral” in the Israel-Palestinian conflict. I’m not sure but I don’t think that the Presbyterians have thought this through completely.
God is not One Who likes neutrality. Careful reading of the scriptures (which I assume the Presbyterian leadership has done at some point) will reveal that He is always firmly placed on the side of right. Now, when you consider the fact that the Hebrews, the nation of Israel, or the Jews, whatever your preferred term is, are God’s chosen people, His nation, then being neutral is not exactly the wisest move one can make. No matter what you say, no matter how loud the protestations, people are always on one side or the other. There is no neutrality within the human body. It may be by a small margin, say by only .1% over the middle point of fifty, but still there is a leaning more to one side than the other. By trying, in no matter how small a way to keep Israel from having those things it needs to defend itself, the Presbyterian Church USA has sided with the Palestinian reactionaries, and blatantly against the nation of Israel.
One church body, even one as large as the Presbyterian Church USA can’t really make that big a difference in this conflict so why bring it up? Well, it’s not that this event will turn the tide in the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian immigrants. It could however, make a big difference in the lives of those in the Presbyterian Church leadership. God doesn’t look favorably on those that are against His chosen people. Let’s take a look at the 30th chapter of Jeremiah:

I have included the entire passage to avoid the “taken out of context” argument but I have highlighted the verse that tells the fate of those that go against the nation of Israel. Those who oppress, or go against Israel will be punished. God makes no bones about it. The Presbyterian Church however seems to think that paying more attention to being “politically correct” than it does to the Word of God is an acceptable practice. God’s word, says quite the opposite.
I am not saying that the Presbyterian Church USA is not a Christian organization or to the sincerity or depth of faith of any of its leaders or members. I am pointing out though that their understanding of the Old Testement and its appliqability to our current time is deficient. Obviously, the church leadership needs to pay more attention to God and less attention to the latest public opinion polls.

STEVEN VINCENT AND THE BASRA POLICE

I just read the opinion piece that Steven Vincent wrote for the New York Times and which ended up getting him killed. In the piece he pointed out that the Basra police force the majority of officers are Shiite loyalist and more committed to a radical ayatollah than their positions as law enforcement officers. In fact, one of the officers he spoke to before writing this piece called cleric Moktada al-Sadr, a known anti-American radical Shiite “a great man.” Another officer on the Basra police force, a lieutenant, spoke of a “death car.” It is a white Toyota Mark II that carries off duty police officers to their next assassination assignment. Another officer told Vincent that up to 75% of the officers on the force are loyal to people and systems outside of the department.
The British, who are in charge of security and training in this part of Iraq seem either not to notice the corruption or not care. They do nothing to instruct the officer trainees in the concept of loyalty to the national government, human rights, democracy, or that a policeman’s personal feelings or beliefs must remain his own and not become part of how he decides who should or should not be arrested or detained or how matters should be settled.
Without doubt the British have been and are our most valuable ally in the war in Iraq. However, how can we continue to allow them to do only part of the job when we know that their failures will cost American lives? Do we have the right to tell them how to do the job they have been given? Or, is it our duty to tell them that they must make changes in how they are caring out their duties? These questions at best are difficult to answer, but nonetheless, they must be answered and answered soon. The fact that this article cost Steven Vincent his life serves only to verify the charges he leveled at the Basran Police Department and the dangers that our people will face because of British failures.
One last piece of information that might be of interest. Remember that white Toyota with off duty police officers? Vincent was seen being abducted by five police officers in a white Toyota police car.

SUPREME COURT NOMINEE JOHN G. ROBERTS JR.

The liberal media has always been zealous when trying to dig up dirt on people that don’t fit their liberal mold. Of course the New York Times is one of the biggest conservative haters in the country and they have climbed to new heights on the disgusting practices scale. This time they have gone so far into the distasteful realm that even a politician is upset. Texas senator Kay Baily-Hutchison says that reporters digging around for information on the judge’s adopted children is way over the line.
According to a spokesman for the Times says such an inquiry is just a routine part of an investigation into the background of person appointed to a high office. Routine? Just how stupid do the Times people think the American public is. They are looking for dirt anywhere they can find it and the only reason they are looking at the adoptions of the judges children is because they can’t find anything in any other part of his life. They are so used to dealing with people like the Clinton’s that they can’t believe someone has nothing to hide, nothing they have done to be ashamed of. I guess it’s to be expected though. When you lie down with the dogs you’re going to get up with fleas.

IRAQI CAR BOMBING

A suicide car bomber drove into a crowd outside an Iraqi police station and killed five civilians and wounded fifteen or more. This really isn’t big news since these types of bombings, outside of police and army posts or recruiting stations have been happening since the liberation. What amazes me is the fact that as many of these homicide bombings there have been, people are still wanting to sign up to be police officers or serve in the army. This says a lot for the average Iraqi citizen.
These people want to be able to defend themselves, to have an army that can protect their nation from foreign enemies and that they can be proud to serve in. They want to be able to police themselves, to live in neighborhoods where their families are safe, to be able to enforce the laws they as a people have chosen to put in place. Before you say so? lots of people want to be police officers or in the army. Maybe so but how many of them would stand in line outside of a place they new had a high possibility of being bombed? How many would risk dying just because they want to join the army or police force?
The average Iraqi wants to live in a country that they can have a free and productive life. Where they can raise their kids to be good people, people with a the opportunity to become whatever their abilities allow them to be, not what some religious psychopath tells them to be. The least we can do is protect them, teach them, and guide them into the future they deserve and are willing to die for.

The man writing the biography of Osama bin Laden says he watched the al Qaeda people leave their caves and head off to exile or hiding carry two things with them. A Kalashnikov rifle and a laptop computer. It seems that the terrorist having been deprived of their sanctuary and training facilities in Afghanistan have turned to the Internet.
They like to use free e-mail servers to pass messages and instructions to other terrorists. It usually goes like this. Abu bin Dimwit signs up for a free e-mail server such as Juno or Hotmail. He then types a message and saves it as a draft. Then, in some innocent chat room or bulletin board he passes the account info along to his cohort including the password. The recipient then can open the account, down load the draft and get whatever information or instructions it contains. Since no actual e-mail was sent there is nothing to trace or intercept by any security agency.
Another method is for Osama al Swineface to hack into an innocent unsuspecting business web site and upload whatever they choose. Then those in the know can log on, get their info and be back out without problems. The business eventually catches on and fixes things but of all the hits on the site which one is legit and which one is terrorist related?
The internet also contains hundreds of videos that anyone can view on subjects such as navigating across a desert by using the stars, shooting an American soldier, how to mix ricin poison, making a bomb out of commercially available chemicals, and how to sneak into Iraq from Syria by disguising yourself as a fisherman, among many, many others. Gabriel Weimann a professor at the University of Haifa has been tracking terrorist web sites for eight years. When he started he found 12, now he keeps track of 4,500.
Knowing that permanent sites can be traced and hacked the terrorist have a habit of using rapidly proliferating bulletin boards that allow them to quickly upload and store information temporarily before moving on to a new site. With the number of servers available it is virtually impossible to keep track of them all and this allows them a lot of freedom to communicate with each other undetected. Another new development is “cyber cells.” Rather than have an organized cell with a regular meeting place or places, terrorist meet and get to know each other on line and once they are comfortable with each other and have developed a mutual trust they can meet and carry out an operation in the field.
Just for fun I typed “How to Make A Bomb” into Google and got 8390 hits. I typed “Make A Bomb” into Ask Jeeves and got 17,900 hits and with the same inquiry on Google I got 38,400 hits. Granted a number of these were sites about other sites and I even saw lyrics to a song dealing with making a bomb but it still doesn’t make for a restful nights sleep. Tomorrow I will try a search for “Jihad” and see what happens. I’ve got a feeling it won’t be pretty.

The Cancer of Rome

I’ll skip the usual recap and witty comments on the days events and move straight to a matter of great importance, the Roman Catholic Cult and their continued flaunting of God and the law.
Last year Father James Chevedden said the 11 A. M mass and then headed off for jury duty. When the jury was dismissed for the day he left the court house and went to the buildings parking garage. Then he jumped to his death. Paramedics found him face up in a patch of dirt at 4:48 P/ M. It was his 56th birthday.
Tragic but what has this to do with anybody outside his church and family? Well, like so many times there is much more to the story.
In 1995, after a series of rambling phone calls to his family and Jesuit leaders he was recalled from his missionary post in Taiwan and committed for psychiatric care at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco as a “danger to self.” The following year, disillusioned with the Jesuits he began looking for a teaching position outside of the church in Los Angeles. That effort failed however so he returned to the order and took a position in the bay area. He developed a solid and loyal following in the Chinese catholic community.
Apparently, he was still suffering from psychological difficulties which his co-workers and superiors failed to notice. On August 19, 1998 he climbed to the top of some window washing scaffolding on the Sacred Heart grounds and jumped. He suffered two broken feet that required extensive surgeries. He was at Sacred Heart Monastery to recuperate and one of the officials there, Father Thomas H. Smolich said of Chevedden that he had “a paranoid psychotic break” and was not intending to kill himself. What was he doing? Testing a new theory of aeronautic drag coefficients?
While still recovering from his jump, whatever his intentions, he said that one Father Conner sexually molested him and physically abused him. These accusations were made to his Jesuit superiors and are also recorded in the notes of his counseling sessions as well as in private e-mails to his family. At first these accusations could easily be attributed to the obvious fact that the priest was having psychological difficulties, but again, there is more to the story.
What Chevedden didn’t know at the time but leaders of the California Province of the Jesuit order did know is that Connor had sexual abuse complaints going back at least to 1995. Apparently at that time Connor sexually abused a MENTALLY HANDICAPPED dishwasher at the Sacred Heart facility. At the insistence of local authorities Connor was transferred away from his victim at Sacred Heart.
In 2001 Connor was convicted of a felony sex crime and ordered to serve six months of home detention, register as a life time sex offender and refrain from any contact with any mentally disabled adults or minors. The Jesuits also worked most of that summer negotiating a $7.5 million settlement with the family of the dishwasher. The entire purpose of these negotiations was to for the Jesuits to do a little damage control before word got out about what their priest had been doing.
Chevedden’s psychiatrist, who states unequivocally that damage control was more important than caring for Chevedden, also dismisses their innuendos that Chevedden may have imagined it all. The psychiatrist is convinced that Chevedden is telling the truth and relating real, not imagined events. As tragic as this story is, it is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to sexual perversion within the Roman Catholic Cult. Since 1990 55 people that had been abused by representatives of the pope have committed suicide.
The Roman Catholic Cult is an evil and vile cancer on our society and should be excised without delay. The leaders of this organization are no more than a band of self serving perverts seeking no more than their own pleasure and the stuffing of their coffers with as much loot as possible. In the name of helping people and the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ these creatures spread pain and suffering everywhere they go. When they are called on their many atrocities their first instinct is not to offer the comfort of God but to buy the persons silence so they may continue with their wickedness. At least the Muslims tell you up front they hate you, unlike the pope’s minions who offer a hand of supposed friendship before stealing your money, your soul and your life.

A lead British medical ethicist wants U. S. medical groups to take a stand against psychologists and psychiatrist working with the military interrogators at Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib. He seems to think that mental health professionals working in such a way is a disgrace. He’s not sure they can do their jobs and maintain proper ethics at the same time. They may resort to exploiting fears and break the prisoners. Such techniques he claims are designed to damage, not heal, people’s minds. However, those involved in the interrogations at these locations assure us that the techniques used are specifically designed not to harm anyone.
I think the gentleman is a little peeved because these people are making a real contribution in the war on terror while he is relegated to doing no more than treating Brits with depression and an abnormal fear of fog. Fortunately no one is paying attention to him so he should fade into the background again shortly. The only thing the people working at Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib have earned is our respect and sincere thanks.

Judge Rehnquist was back in the hospital for a little while due to a fever. Doctors assure us that he is doing fine and that this is typical of someone with this type of cancer. Maybe so but when will he catch on to the fact he has stayed past his own deadline. He said he would remain on the bench as long as his health permitted. Hospitalized twice in a month with infections due to cancer treatment is interfering with his abilities. He is spending more time worrying about his health (which is fully understandable) more than cases before the court. The time to step down has come. Resign Mr. Chief Justice.

Rumsfeld was picking on the leaders of Syria today for backing the “insurgents” (criminals) in Iraq and told them it would come back to haunt them. Well, I’m not sure what he meant by that but he is right in pointing out how wrong their actions are. They are harboring some of the criminals that served in the Sadam Hussein regime and not returning Iraqi monies over to Iraq’s citizens. On top of this they are funding some of the insurgents. This has all got to stop. I wonder how they would like to see an embargo much like the one we currently have in place against Iran? I say let’s find out how they react!

Some of the countries in Europe want to allow Iran to have nuclear power plants and the U. S. is in agreement with the details of the plan. They would be closely supervised and all spent and waste radio active material would be turned over to another country. Yeah, this is a great idea. We have a rogue nation lead by a radical religious leader of a religion founded on hatred war and bloodshed but let’s give them nuclear power. Why not blow up the world ourselves and save the middleman?

A high school teacher/coach in Bend Oregon has been publicly reprimanded and put on two years probation by the school board. It seems he had licked blood off a couple of his students wounds. Yes, licked the blood off of them. The students involved said he was just “joking around.” Apparently no harm was done and the matter will end here as long as he doesn’t have anymore pre-lunch snack breaks.
There is one thing missing in this story. No one took the time or the interest to ask him why. You’d think that would be the one question they would demand be answered.

Billy Goldberg a physician has just published his first book. It’s a non-fiction work that he believes answers many questions that have plagued people for years. At least according to the “study” he undertook while at cocktail parties and other such social events. The book is titled “Why do Men Have Nipples?: Hundreds of Questions You’d Only Ask A Doctor After Your Third Martini.” He claims men have nipples because we start off unisex and by the time testosterone floods the womb the nipples have already formed.
Here’s one more tid bit from the book before you head off to the office Monday morning. The average office desk has 400 times more infectious bacteria than does the average toilet seat. Now, don’t you feel better?

Judge Roberts

Supreme court nominee John Roberts said in his written responses to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday that a good judge must understand his limited role, have humility and be “a thoughtful skeptic.” It seems to me that these are excellent answers but yet the liberal media still is trying to make this man out to be some type of right wing radical that will set legal matters back a full century if he is approved.

He also said of judges “they do not have a commission to solve societies problems as they see them, but simply to decide cases before them according to the rule of law.” Wow! Deciding cases according to the law, I wonder if the country can survive such a radical idea. The real problem is if we were to put some liberal Dumbocrat nominee on the bench he/she would have as their primary purpose on the court to make the country over into their own perverted image. Thank God we have George Bush and not Gore or Kerry in the White House.
Judge Roberts went on to say that the courts should not intrude into areas of policy making reserved by the constitution to the political branches. In other words, the administrative branch makes policy, the judicial branch should interpret and enforce the law. Sounds like a good idea to me. In the same batch of questions and responses he also said that he promises to respect precedent and respect the fact that other judges have worked just as diligently to hold true to the constitution as they understood the founding fathers ideas.

Six Marines Killed

In the town of Haditha in the western part of Iraq six Marines were ambushed by Iraqi criminals and killed in the resulting action. To make this tragedy worse, or at least seem worse, there is a distinct possibility the criminals were working with inside information. Officials are concerned that the Iraqi military has been infiltrated by “insurgents” (read criminals). If this was truly a group of native Iraqi citizens it would be easier to understand and perhaps, give credence to the fact that we may need to reconsider our presence there. However, knowing that they are Muslim Slum Club criminals coming across the Syrian and Iranian borders from many other countries. It is amazing just how low these swine will sink just for the “privilege” of killing Americans. Leaving your home country and attacking soldiers that are defending freedom simply because they have fallen under the spell of some deranged cleric is such a terrible and senseless way to die.

Comatose Birth

In Virginia a 26 year old woman who has been in a coma for the last three months gave birth by cesarean section to a girl today. The baby who weighed one pound and thirteen ounces was doing well.

The woman has been kept alive for the last three months with complete life support after collapsing during dinner at home. The hospital spokesperson said that there were no complications during surgery. The spokesperson said nothing about the mother or her condition.

Kids Death

A report by a national group that deals with missing children has guidelines for how the first hours a search for missing children should be conducted says police failed to follow their recommendations. Apparently, police in Camden New Jersey either haven’t read the recommendations or if they have they believe they know better and so ignored it when searching for 3 boys during the first part of June. The report also faults the parents for failing to call police for more than three hours after the boys first went missing.

The bottom line is that even though it is recommended that abandon cars be searched thoroughly early in any search, and the fact that the parents knew the boy had been playing in an abandoned car just the day before, the car was never searched. The police did pound on the trunk lid and call for the boys some ten hours after they disappeared but got no response. The result is three dead boys. Somebody needs to be held accountable, the parents for waiting too long, the police for sloppy search procedures, and anyone else that assumed that “somebody else” searched the car. Somebody else has never done a single thing.

Penny Are Fine

A man in North Dakota was upset after receiving a speeding ticket and showed up at the courthouse with a garbage can containing 12,000 pennies to pay his fine. The judge however had the last word, as they always do, and forced the man stay until all of them were counted. The County Administrator outfoxed them both though and took the pennies to the bank where they used a machine to count them. The bank then gave the administrator the equivalent amount in bills and even a few extra pennies.

I give the man a thumbs up for the idea but poor marks for execution. He’d be better off to just slow down from now on.

Whoopee

With all of the terrorism around the world people are getting more and more observant of things left behind or sitting where they shouldn’t. This was true of a Sydney bus driver that found a package in the back of his bus after completing his route. His suspicions were only made worse when he heard a strange sound coming from the box. He dutifully called police who came and checked out the errant package. Anyone who lost a whoopee cushion cam pick it up at the Sydney police department.

Reporter Killed

An American freelance journalist who recently accused the Basra Iraq Police of being infiltrated by Shiite insurgents was found shot to death today he had been shot in the head and body. It seems he was abducted earlier by five men driving a police car. His female translator was dumped outside a currency exchange store seriously wounded. It is unknown what other horrors the animals of the Muslim Scum Club did to here.

This tragedy shows the criminals in their true light. Tell the truth about us and we’ll kill you. Yes, the members of the slime covered Shiite Muslim Scum Club have shed the one or two decent cells in their entire bodies. All there is left, is the most disgusting filth ever to walk the earth.

14 MARINES KILLED

Just south of Haditha, another cowardly remote controlled bomb was set off under an American Marine Assault vehicle. The explosion caused the 25 ton vehicle to flip over onto its top and killed 14 American Marines. This is the deadliest attack against American forces by the Muslim Scum Club since the beginning of the war in March of 2003. To compound this tragedy, these Marines were members of the same unit as the six killed yesterday. Most of them were also from the same community.

The liberal media, in an effort to give the people that did this credibility have labeled them insurgents. They are not insurgents or rebels, they are criminals. They come from outside of Iraq and come there for no other reason than their hatred of Americans and the freedoms we enjoy and have brought to Iraq. They have no noble religious cause, no great religious truth guiding them. They are criminals that are out for their own gain and use the “religion” of another criminal, Mohammed, as a cover for their illicit activities. The sooner these swine are caught and imprisoned or killed the better it will be for Iraq and the rest of the world.

THROW THE INCUBATOR AWAY

I mentioned yesterday that a woman that had been in a coma for the last three months had delivered a healthy baby girl by caesarean section. Well, now that she has completed her role as incubator her husband and family turned off her life support and she died earlier today. I’m not saying this woman had great prospects but she should at least been given the chance to recover from the surgery and gain the strength needed to fight for her life. As it is, she was disposed of like yesterday’s newspaper.

CARBON COPY PUPPY

Some South Korean researchers have announced that they have created the worlds first cloned dog. It is an Afghan hound created from a cell taken from the ear of a three year old male. They say it is a great step forward for both research and for raising companion dogs. Oh, yeah, that’s just what we need, a new way to make dogs. Obviously these people have been too busy watching their Petri dishes grow to visit any pet rescue center in the world. What a phenomenal waste of time, energy and scarce research funding. Nice work fellas.

A TAX HOLIDAY

Here in Missouri the state sets aside a few days before school starts when many items needed for school, clothes, supplies, computers, etc are free of sales tax. This helps people save that 4.225 percent and if the county or city joins in they can save those taxes also. The problem is that a good number of these government bodies refuse to take part because they don’t want to loose the revenue. Three days of sales tax might break them. If that is truly the case then these towns and counties are severely mismanaged.

I only mention this because I want to present the second PeeDee award jointly to all cities and counties that are too greedy to cut sales tax for three days. Their continuing to collect sales tax on these items is no different than the three-year-old throwing himself to the floor and screaming “It’s mine, it’s mine, it’s mine!”

ROAD RAGE

A man in Brockton Mass. Angered another driver and after the exchange of a few words both seemed to go their separate ways. But, as so often the case, not all is as it seems. One of the “gentlemen” proceeded to take his wife to her destination and then returned to the scene of the incident. The second gentleman was still there and just reaching in to take his ten-month-old daughter out of her car seat. The second “gentleman” pulled up and fired four shots killing the man holding his daughter. Fortunately the little girl was unhurt although covered in blood laying in her car seat.

This was done in front of a number of witnesses so the police have the shooter in custody. The man is claiming self defense. Apparently he’s as stupid as he is vile.

THE FRENCH BEING THEMSELVES

Some investigators probing the discovery of hundreds of fetuses and stillborn babies in a hospital in Paris believe the practice is widespread. It seems that French researchers figuring that they may at some point want a baby or fetus for their work ask obstetricians to keep them for that purpose. The doctors happily oblige them even though this practice has been outlawed for many years. Current law mandates that unclaimed bodies of stillborns and aborted fetuses be cremated within ten days.

French researchers and obstetricians feel that someday they may be useful for genetic research so they hang on to them and store them in formaldehyde. In one hospital 351 such bodies were found. It’s not surprising but I guess it’s just the French being as disgusting as ever. Some things just never change.

OIL PRICES

Oil prices crept upward Monday and all those “experts” claim it was because King Fahd of Saudi Arabia died and people were uncertain about how things were going to fall out because of the new King. I hate to sound like I doubt what all these highly educated people are saying but the simple fact is that no such fear existed or at least there was no reason for it. The old king had a stroke in 1995 and Crown Prince Abdullah has been running the country since then. He was quickly appointed as the new king and things go on as they always have.
The real reason for the increase in oil prices is the same one that has caused all the oil and gas prices to go up in the last several months. Greed!!! It’s been going on since the mid seventies and it will continue till the end of time. The oil companies know they can force us to pay the higher prices and they want all the money they can get their crooked little hands on so they raise prices on a whim and then cook up some lie to make it look like it’s totally out of their control.
If shortages and higher crude prices are the case of all the price increases then why are there 1.8 million more barrels of distilled petroleum products available right now than there were a month ago? Just like with so much else that we have to have to live day to day, oil prices are governed by a set of self centered greed motivated executives.

THE INTERNET

A United Nations Working Group study recently released suggests that the United Nations take over running the internet and the agency that oversees the registration of domain names and numbers. Currently this is all done by a not for profit group under the watchful eye of the U. S. Department of Commerce. I can’t help but think that turning the running of the internet over to a group as corrupt as the UN would make as much sense as repairing the space shuttle with Elmer’s glue and duct tape.
Senator Coleman who has read the report says that turning the internet over to the UN would “be a foolish step backwards.” Face it, if it is such a bad idea that a politician can spot it, it has to be really really bad! I frankly couldn’t think of a better way to kill the internet than let the UN run it.

COFFEE SHOP

A lady in Birmingham owns a small coffee shop and was recently approached by a group of atheist that call themselves Universilist and espouse an atheist doctrine. They wanted to hold a meeting in her shop. Since the shop only holds thirty people and group meetings can sometimes get noisy and her shop is rather small she realized that this was a bad idea. That’s where it should end right? Well yes it should but of course it doesn’t.
This lady is a Christian and so the Universilist have decided she is discriminating against them because they are atheist. They are boycotting the shop and trying to organize a counter demonstration reminiscent of the mid sixties south where they take all the seats at the counter and do nothing and buy nothing. Amazing isn’t it. If they were keeping a church group out of a business they owned it would be their right, but since she is a Christian it is discrimination. Well, at least we know why they don’t believe in God. They’re too stupid!!

PARKING TICKETS

A city councilman in Boston has been really big on parking tickets and especially those who don’t pay them. He has proposed doubling the fines and penalties for many of the tickets in order to put a stop to the flagrant disregard of city parking regulations. There are just a few more interesting facts to this story though:
1. In the last two years this councilman has had 115 tickets himself.
2. He has twice been ticketed for illegally parking in a handicap spot.
3. He has been ticketed for blocking a fire hydrant with his car.
4. Ticketed three times for expired registration
5. He has been ticketed for double parking
6. Has illegally parked on emergency snow routes.
7. In all has paid the city $5527 in parking fines in the last two years including $845 in penalties.

Just since this story broke has the noble councilman gone to city hall and picked up his FREE parking sticker allowing him to legally park in his home neighborhood. He says he is human, he makes mistakes. Yeah I think so. The latest is getting caught looking like a fool for picking on someone else when he is a major law violator himself. The total stupidity of some public figures will never cease to amaze me.

A BIBLE COURSE

A “religious” watch dog group in Texas is all upset over a Bible course being offered there in some schools. They claim that the course teaches that the Bible is inspired by God (which it is), that all their science discussions are based on a scriptural viewpoint (which they should be), and that Jesus fulfills Old Testament Prophecy (which He does). The group claims that “No public school student should have a particular religious belief forced on them.” Although barely, this statement just might hold water. The thing is that this is an elective course so even if their allegations are accurate, each student is there because they choose to be, not because the state is forcing them.
Why groups must go so far to eliminate religion, are so scared of God, is a mystery to me. And when that group claims to be religious itself, as does this group, it is even more mind boggling. Obviously there is just enough truth in this class to scare the anti-Christian minority. Way to go Texas!

SOMETHING ROTTEN

Five police officers from Dresden Germany grabbed their friendly cadaver dog and headed to a small village near the Czech border to investigate a foul odor. They fully expected to find a decomposing body of some type but were in for a bit of a surprise. It seems the odor wasn’t from any type of animal tissue but a large stinkhorn fungus. This particular specimen had reached a length of about 20cm (app. 4 inches), larger than usually seen with this particular species. The police headed back to Dresden without citing or taking the fungus into custody.

I wonder if something very similar could be found coming from the office of the junior senator from New York?

I Wish I Knew

The Muslim Scum Club is holding true to past performances, vile and cowardly. Near the town of Bazra they set off a road side bomb as a British Consulate convoy passed. Two civilian security consultants were killed. A little know insurgent group claimed responsibility on a widely used Muslim web site while at the same time expressing thankfulness to God for the fact they had been able to murder two more innocent people. God is not now nor has He ever been on the side of these vermin. They didn’t claim any particular message in what they did but I assume it would be something like this. You arrest fellow Muslims for attempting mass murder? How dare you? You did the right thing so we’ll kill some of your citizens!
Another homicide bomber blew himself up and killed five innocent people at a police check point in Baghdad. Twenty people were injured in the same attack. These fools claim they want the U. S. out of Iraq so they try and bring it about by killing their own people. Could there be anything more stupid? Another homicide bomber drove into a U. S. convoy near the city of Anbar and killed four of our Marines. Please pray for the families of these heroes.

Another hero has been killed for no other reason it appears than that he was an American. A DEA agent vacationing in Honduras was shot and killed by some juvenile gang members. He was not in the country doing work for his employer but rather was on vacation. He was shot while visiting a religious shrine. Please pray for this mans family also. He too had devoted his life to protecting the citizens of this country from an enemy as vile as the Muslim Scum Club. The police have arrested two juvenile suspects.

More and more doctors are turning towards drugs to help people kick drug and alcohol addictions. Some of the drugs being used were developed for the purpose of reducing the craving for chemicals or preventing the high they produce. Others in use are ones that have been around for years but created and approved for different uses. All of this sounds great and very promising but it does leave me with a question or two.
Whether alcohol or drugs, kicking a habit has always been a long and difficult process. These drugs promise to bring the same result without the lengthy withdrawals, that often came with a great deal of physical pain and emotional turmoil. I am not saying that either of these is a good thing but if one is “cured” of a habit by just taking a pill, will that person appreciate the freedom from chemicals they now have? It just seems to me that like anything else, being clean can best be appreciated when it has been earned, and not just handed to the addict on a silver platter.

The National Urban League recently did a study of Sunday morning talk shows and discovered that only 8% of the guests are African American. Stephanie Jones, the groups spokesperson says that this is the result of an exclusionary policy and calls it “Sunday morning apartheid.”
Is it just possible that there are so few black guests because there are not very many blacks in positions of influence right now? I don’t mean that blacks are not qualified for these positions, just that they don’t currently hold many of them. Condi Rice and Collin Powell make up a large percentage of the appearances by African Americans. As for other blacks they seem to have gone into medicine and the other sciences rather than politics.
Why is everything that seems to put African Americans in an apparent unequal position is automatically racist, rather than a result of simple facts that have nothing to do with race. If, as I suspect that blacks are not entering fields that put them in political positions of influence then how can they be represented in proportionate numbers on political talk shows?
The National Urban League would be far better off spending its time and resources on helping blacks see the benefits of a career in public service rather than whinning because they are being ignored when in reality it just isn’t the case. This country has enough problems without making them up out of thin air.

Technology continues to march forward bringing us closer and closer to a world resembling Star Trek. The latest thing is in the area of cell phones. They already play music, have text messaging, will connect you to the internet and retrieve your e-mail. Now they are making them that will replace your wallet. By putting in a special chip you will be able to wave it in front of a scanner and charge everything from fast food to movie tickets.
These phones are already in use in Japan and parts of Europe. I’m not sure I’m ready for them though. What happens when a system gets hacked or a malfunction occurs? I don’t think I’m strong enough to take opening my cell phone bill and finding out I owe 8 million dollars and now own the country of Botswana. Or, that I owe 32 million dollars because I supposedly spent a Sunday afternoon buying a Big Mac for all of Houston. No, until these systems are a lot more secure than they are now I’ll settle for doing no more than making phone calls with my cell phone. How’s that for radical?

Now, in closing let’s grab something from the really really stupid files. An 8 year old boy was recently charged with lewd conduct with a minor because his 14 year old baby sitter dared him to touch her breast during a game of truth or dare and he did.
Can you believe it? A fourteen year old bares her breast and dares her charge, the eight year old boy to touch them and he is the one charged with lewd conduct. Why, because the eight year old is male? Now that’s sexual discrimination! Fortunately the charges have since been dropped but the story points out just how stupid people can be at times. Granted, both kids did something they shouldn’t have, but by the time the boy fully understands just what he was involved in she won’t have to dare him to touch anything!

More Ramblings

Recently a young football player collapsed and died at the UniversityMissouri campus in Columbia. The cause of death has yet to be determined although infections and stroke have been ruled out. What is strange about this is the chain of events that took place between his first collapse and his receiving of professional medical attention
At 2: 39 on the afternoon of July 12, the athlete collapsed during a voluntary practice. He was able to get back up and finished the stretching exercises. At 2:43 when the session was over he headed for the game day locker room. He was in the locker room from 2:45 till 2:57 with a team mate and an athletic department staff member. Between 2:57 and 3:00 pm he was carried to a pick-up truck and they headed for the sports medicine facility where they arrived at 3:03. There are conflicting reports as to whether he was in the front or back of the truck. At 3:08 an ambulance is summoned via 911 and arrives at 3:14 and begins CPR. The Para-medics took over care as soon as they arrived and took the young man to the Hospital arriving at 3:30. He was pronounced dead at 4: 05. This tragedy and subsequent string of events raise a good many questions. At some point after arriving at the sports medicine building the staff realized he had no pulse and hooked him up to an automatic defibrillator which had failed to administer a shock prior to the ambulance arriving.
1. Why was he allowed to continue after collapsing?
2. Why was he taken to another university building instead of the hospital which was right across the street?
3. Why didn’t the defibrillator detect and counter his lack of cardiac activity?
There is no doubt that there are more questions than answers and that only an outside, independent investigation will find the needed answers. A young man is dead and someone needs to explain why.

The Senate has passed a budget amendment that will increase the amount of money for veterans health care by 1.5 billion dollars. This is a really strange turn of events since the government usually has the idea that once a person serves their hitch, then all contact with them should be broken. The side effects of the increased patriotism since 9/11 seems to be having one more benefit in the form of the government actually admitting they owe a debt to our veterans. It’s about time.

A group of Islamic terrorist, who were using the Virginia countryside to train for a holy war overseas were arrested, tried and convicted. A judge recently reduced all of their sentences. One was cut fro 85 to only 65 years and another also had his sentence cut by 20 years. Granted, the fact that the one serving 65 years is 35 so isn’t likely to live to see release, but there is a principle involved. Supposedly this was based on some recent Supreme Court decision and the judge had no choice. Maybe but it’s wrong. These animals must be found, locked up and kept there for the rest of their life.
One of the convicted felons had his sentence cut from 97 months (just over 8 years) to 52 months (4 1/3 years). There is no reason for this. Why should we put this murderer want to be back on the streets to endanger our lives? Bet this fool judge is a Dumbocrat appointee.

A judge in Los Angeles (land of the totally stupid and terminally weird) recently ruled that some of the Patriot Act is too vague and therefore unconstitutional. The judge said that the parts in question cannot be understood by a person of “normal” intelligence. This law, or set of laws is meant to be used against terrorist and no one has yet found a terrorist that can come up to that high a standard of intelligence.
I know laws have been instituted from time to time that do go contrary to one part of our constitution or another. These mistakes do need to be corrected, but what I don’t remember is a “non-vagueness” clause in the constitution.

Senate majority leader, Bill Frist has turned his back on the President, the republican party and the unborn. He now support federal funding of embryonic stem cell research. He seems to think that this will help move science forward in great strides. The fact that they must kill a viable embryo apparently is unimportant to him. Despite the fact that this position is a plain and simple betrayal of those who have supported him over the years, he seems determined to have the government pay to kill babies.
The unbelievable thing is he still maintains he is pro-life. Yeah, and I’m going to fly to the moon by just flapping my arms.

The fact that Hillary Clinton wants to be President although frightening, is about as secret as the fact we won WWII. She has already started her balancing act, trying to please everyone all the time. She is trying to be the darling of the left while at the same time show herself as the candidate of the center. She is even now a big proponent of fighting terrorism anywhere and everywhere we find it and seems to be silent on a definite withdrawal plan. In a recent survey of likely voters Hillary polled as being tougher than Condi Rice.
She will have to answer one question before this campaign is over though. Has she told Bill the truth about her having a sex change operation prior to their meeting in college and that her birth name was Butch?

From the truly disgusting files we move to the how can this happen files and a story on the Napa Hospital. A recent investigation revealed that patient care in this mental facility is less than ideal. Apparently they routinely restrain patients for hours on end without reason. Patients have been forced to lie around in soiled diapers for up to 12 hours. Have overdosed on ILLEGAL drugs right in the hospital itself (some even fatally). Some of the patients are bathed only once every two to four weeks. They have even gone so far as to punish patients who had the nerve to ask to be discharged.
A hospital spokesperson said that the report is based on “inadequate” information. She had nothing to say as to what the government agency that conducted the investigation had to gain from filing a less than accurate report.

Closer to home, Governor of Missouri Matt Blunt has decided that the agency that oversees the process of state employees voting on whether or not to join a union isn’t needed so he eliminated it. I guess fairness in the process is less important to him than money. This same agency also handled appeals of workman’s compensation claims. I’m sure that dumping all of this on another agency, the already busy Labor and Industrial Relations Agency will cause no problems such as excessive delays, especially in the workman’s comp claims. People can live a few more months without income of their own with the state’s help, till their case finally comes up.

This last story comes from the really hard to believe files. It seems France, you know the folks that surrender three weeks before war is declared actually are doing something right. They are planning to deport a dozen Muslim clerics that are in the habit of trying to inflame young Muslims with hate speech. They are sending all of these people to their country of origin. Not bad for the consistent winners of the Cringing Chicken award!

A Mish Mash

Yesterday I mentioned that the Center For American Progress has issued a study that claims that rounding up and deporting all the illegal aliens in the country would cost 41 billion dollars a year for five years. After reading the report I have learned that that figure is based on a rather complex formula of their own design. Their results are also questionable because they are based on some rather generous assumptions in many areas of the problem. Much of what they claim cannot be easily verified and is subject to interpretation.
One of the points they make is how much would be involved in housing them before a trial and of course the cost of their constitutional right to a trial. The real bottom line is that despite what this group says, these people are not citizens of the United States, their very presence is a felony and therefore they are not entitled to Constitutional protection. Another aspect to the high cost is what to do about the families with illegal parents but children born in this country that therefore are citizens. The common sense solution to this problem is to deny citizenship to these children allowing the deported family to stay together.

The United Nations has passed a resolution which amounts to the continuation of another resolution passed shortly after the 911 attack. It forbids member nations from: “planning, facilitating, preparing or the perpetuating of acts or activities or in conjunction with, or under the name of, on behalf of, or in support of al Qaeda or the Taliban.” Well, I’ll sleep better tonight knowing how much weight the UN carries in this world.

Pentagon officials have announced some 30 % that soldiers returning from Iraq are developing mental health problems three to four months after returning home. These problems include anxiety, depression, nightmares, anger, and the inability to concentrate. A few of them are developing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It is good to see that military leaders are being open and honest about what our people are going through after serving our country. Let’s hope that in the years to come that the Veterans Administration does not deny the existence of these problems as it did with the PTSD and cancer’s our Vietnam veterans suffered due to Agent Orange. The VA’s refusal to fulfill its obligation to our men and women who served in Vietnam was an abomination that is still causing many of our veterans to suffer.

Well, the Dumbocrats have got some of their puppet groups to begin attacking John Roberts, President Bush’s nomination to the Supreme Court. People for the American Way, one of their many Political Action Committee’s is claiming that John Roberts was one of the Key Lieutenants in the right wing assault on civil rights laws and precedents. Dangerous sounding words but I can’t remember one way that the civil rights laws or actions suffered during Reagan’s administration. Guess it’s the old “if you can’t find a problem, make one up” mentality.
Also, Teddy Kennedy has been heard from again. Regarding Roberts and whether or not he is an enemy of the civil rights issue Kennedy said “I don’t reach that conclusion yet, but it does certainly raise some questions in my mind.” I thought the only questions he dealt with were whether it was gin, whiskey, or vodka he was drinking for breakfast.

The IRA and the English have had a cease fire since 1997 but it looks as if things could get even better. The IRA has announced that it is declaring an end to their violent methods that have been their main method of operation for the last three decades. They promise to pursue their goals of an independent united Ireland through peaceful means only. Let us pray that this peace holds and there is a true end to the killing in the Emerald Isle.

The delivery drivers for the people that make Budweiser beer have been on strike in St. Louis for 68 days now. The drivers are wanting better medical plans and higher commissions for some of their deliveries This leaves the home of the famous beer without the beer they are famous for. This is causing a number of problems in the St. Louis area. Bar patrons have been seen walking out of their favorite watering hole because they are out of Budweiser. Festivals and sporting events are being forced to sell other brands of brew or do without completely.
The major problem from this strike however, is not just the shortage of beer. It seems that the medical facilities, especially hospital emergency rooms in St. Louis are seeing a huge increase in the emotional trauma cases they are handling. Hundreds of middle aged suburban men have become emotionally distraught after finding a strange leather device encircling their waist. Most are quickly calmed when they learn that it is only their belt.

The FBI has been keeping tabs on several different individuals and groups since 911 and using audio wire taps to do so. However, is seems they are some 8000 hours behind in transcribing them. One official claims that it isn’t that important since most of the material is just white noise picked up by the clandestine microphone. My question is how does he know that if they haven’t listened to the tapes?? Makes you feel really secure doesn’t it.

A 66 year old man in Yonkers called the fire department recently because his 61 year old brother was having difficulty breathing. When emergency workers arrived they found the man lying in his own feces and other refuse and his flesh was being eaten by maggots. He died later that day. His brother is being evaluated in a local psychiatric facility.

Now for a bit of I’m glad it wasn’t me.
A British couple set out from the coast of England in a dinghy for a little private fun. Their cries of passion alarmed nearby folks who called the authorities. Police and Coast Guard responded quickly which effectively put an end to the couple’s “fun.” It is unknown if the term “dinghy” is descriptive of anything besides the water craft the couple used.

Occasionally each of us must deal with a tragedy of one type or another. Such is the case for me in writing this next piece. A dark cloud has settled over the automotive world and threatened to crush the spirit of each and every true auto enthusiast. Porsche has announced that it will invest 1.21 billion dollars in developing the Panamera. Normally, Porsche coming out with a new model would be great news but this time it is truly a dark day in the history of mankind. The Panamera will be a four door “sport” coupe. Yes a four door. I tried to look the other way when they began making an SUV. I figured they would quickly come to their senses and drop that model like a hot rock. I was wrong and now they are venturing deeper into the jungle of ordinary. This is the worse thing to happen since the Edsel.

Jane "The Nasty She Dog" Fonda

We'll get to Jane Fonda in a minute, let's look at a few other things first.
John G. Roberts was in the news again today just like he will be everyday for the next two months. This time it was the White House offering to release to the Senate Judiciary Committee nearly all of the documents from when Judge Roberts was a White House lawyer during the Reagan administration. The only things that will be held back are those dealing with national security and those papers of an entirely personal nature.
It wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for the fact that the only reason the Dumbocrats are doing this is so they can make a big stink over any refusal the President is required to make. Children do love to point to someone else and say it was all “their” fault.
I have made a comment or two recently about all those cowardly Muslim members of the Muslim Scum Club. Well, I have news of some honest and intelligent members of Islam. Tony Blair invited the leaders of the Muslim Community in England to 10 Downing Street for a little chat and the results were great. He asked them to speak out against terror attacks like the recent ones in London. Large numbers of them did just that, issuing fatwa’s, (religious opinions) condemning such acts and many even pointed out that suicide bombing is contrary to the Koran.
Three cheers and a hearty pat on the back to these intelligent, courgaous, responsible and upstanding members of the Muslim religion and community. More than five hundred clerics from three hundred mosque’s around the country took part in this effort to end terrorism.
As good as it is to hear the news above, there is more from the Muslim Scum Club in Iraq. In another grand display of “bravery” some men in cars drove up and shot at government workers who were unarmed and trapped in a bus as they headed home after work. They managed to kill 16 of these innocent patriots. I can almost hear the Scum Club members giving a three oink cheer over the great thing they had done.
In another part of the country a cowards roadside bomb went off as some American Soldiers were driving by and killed four of our brave defenders of freedom. Please pray for the families of these heroes and ask God to bless them in this time of great sorrow.
The new constitution for Iraq is still a work in progress. One of the news services managed to get hold of one chapter of it, as it is currently worded, and noticed that it is highly dependent on Islamic traditions. Of course as soon as the liberal knot heads heard of this they started to complain that women will be trodden under foot in the new government. The fact that it isn’t a finished document yet and that a former governmental leader said “there will be NO humiliation to the rights of women.”
It seems the liberals would rather make a stink over nothing than depend on the facts. Why do I get the feeling that the Dumbocrats are behind this somehow?
An Oxford University professor has come up with some complex mathematical formulas that give a 97% certainty that Jesus rose from the dead. Hmmmmmmmmmmm I am mathematically handicapped but I give 100% certainty that He rose from the dead. Ya’ think God looked down and said “Finally, the fools did the math.”
There seems to be a growing liberal political base that are also claimers of Christianity. They say that a person can support gay and abortion rights and still love God. I can’t really answer that, only God can say who is or isn’t a Christian. However I can say I just don’t understand how the three different beliefs fit together. I just can’t find a connection.
I’m beginning a new award program here in good old blog land. Last week I gave Chuck Schumer the PeeDee for being a political dunce and this week I would like to award the first Genie award. It is given to those we could do without in our collective gene pool.
At the school board meeting in a suburb of St. Louis an argument over PAST budget expenditures required the sheriff’s department to keep it from coming to blows. What a great example for the kids.

Four women in California have died as a result of bloodstream infections after taking the abortion pill RU-486. Authorities are investigating to see if they can determine a cause. Gee, I wonder if it could be that they had incomplete abortions and the remaining tissue became necrotic and that infection migrated into the bloodstream. This pill doesn’t come with a government mandated BLACK BOX warning that bloodstream infections can occur just because they had room on the package for it. This pill (two pills actually) is deadly and dangerous just like the protectors of life have said from the beginning.
Matters are made worse when you consider that many clinics and doctors are telling women to insert the second pill into the vagina rather than take it orally. Great thinking. A dangerous medication and the people "in the know" decide to wing it.
The Center for American Progress has released a study that says it will take forty one billion dollars a year for five years to round up and deport all the illegal aliens. You wouldn’t think that a bus ticket would be that expensive, especially since we’d be buying in bulk.
Even if it is expensive, although I doubt it will be that expensive, we MUST SEAL OUR BORDERS!!! I see nothing wrong with a very simple method I thought of a few years ago. Erect two twenty five foot high electrically charged chain link fences twenty yards apart along the border. Then, (and this is the best part) keep several packs of hungry Rottweiler's in the space between the two fences. If they really want a better life let them stay in Mexico and work on improving their own economy. That’s what an intelligent person would do.
Jane Fonda is planning on hitting the road this March in a big bus and speak out against the war in Iraq. She will be taking the families of some Iraq war vets and her sister with her. During the Vietnam war she OPENLY and PROUDLY gave aid and comfort to the enemy and now this. Is there one good reason this she dog isn’t in prison for treason??
She says her bus will run on vegetable oil. I suggest she use regular gas for the bus and be deep fried in the vegetable oil.

Our forces have suffered more casualties in the war against the cowards of the Muslim Scum Club. A U. S. Soldier was killed Monday in a firefight in Afghanistan. For those who want to tout that our troops are doing it all the Afghan army also lost a soldier in that same encounter. In another incident Monday three of our heroes were wounded in a skirmish outside a small village. Sunday we had six of our soldiers wounded in an incident involving a roadside bomb. These gutless swine can’t meet them face to face, they have to set booby traps and then run and hide. I suppose there are lower life forms but I’ve never across one.
Mortimer Zuckerman, Editor and Chief of U. S. News & World Report used an interesting term in his column in the current issue of his magazine. He calls the “insurgents” or “terrorist” Islamifacist. I like that but as a student of that period of history I am certain even Hitler and his boys would have been sickened by the methods of the Muslim Scum Club.
In the same issue mentioned above, there is an extensive article on how the Pentagon is reevaluating its approach on terrorism. Overall it is a good article but there is one part I cannot object to strongly enough. It seems the Pentagon want to make sure our soldiers receive adequate training in “religious and cultural sensitivities.” NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. This is wrong no matter which way you approach it. They site examples of a soldiers rosary hanging on a tank barrel, and Marines bivouacked in a mosque they had just liberated. No one griped when one of the Muslim criminals tried to shoot two of our soldiers while in a Mosque but resting after a battle is wrong? And what about the rosary? Was it hurting anyone? Was it about to warp the mind of some unsuspecting Muslim person? Not likely!!!
I am not saying our troops should be preaching Christianity on every corner or that we should sponsor Billy Graham type crusades but let’s be real. We liberated that country and if our men and women wish to wear symbols of their faith, pray in public, carry a Bible, or do anything that brings them the strength of their faith then so be it. They should have no restrictions of any type. It there is any sensitivity training it should be for the Muslims, if there is any tolerance to be shown it should be shown by the Muslims. I could have sworn that I heard somewhere that freedom to worship as we chose is part of the very fabric of this nation.
It seems some people are upset because John G. Roberts Jr.’s name appears on a list of leaders of the Federalist Association in 1997 & 1998. Their statement of purpose says “It is founded on the principles that the state exist to preserve freedom, that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be.” I think it’s the part about the judiciary clearing up legal matters, not make law that worries them. If adapted widely every Dumbocrat appointee to the bench would have to resign. Without legislating from the bench they would have nothing to do.
It seems a group of people upset with the recent Supreme Court decision to allow local governments more power under imminent domain want to seize his house under imminent domain principles. They want to build a luxury hotel there. Way to go folks. I wish you all great success in your efforts!!!!!
It seems there is a movie out there about a couple of guys that crash weddings to meet women. That’s a bit dumb but harmless on it’s own. What is disgusting is that they PRETEND TO BE PURPLE HEART WINNERS to win the sympathy of the women they are attempting to woo. This is bad enough but until very recently the movies web site had a paper purple heart you could print and cut out to carry in your pocket. The web site said that doing so would get you lots of attention, admiration and lots of free booze. They have since taken the cut out off the site due to complaints from congressmen but I urge everyone to boycott the movie anyway. The idea of pretending to have been wounded in combat for sexual favors is an insult to each and everyone of our heroes in uniform. Everyone should boycott this movie our of respect for our armed forces.
The Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania must be a real winner. It seems she crashed the funeral of a Marine Staff Sergeant who made the ultimate sacrifice and handed out her business card while there and made comments about the state government being against the war. She has since called and left a voice mail apology and sent the family an apology saying she meant no insult, only to show here support for the family. Apology notwithstanding, I can only hope that when she comes up for re-election the voters tell her that her services are no longer needed.
Like everything else in our society, medicine is caught up in the rush of growing technology. One aspect of this is that now (and this is happening) one nurse will monitor 11 intensive care units at one time while not in the actual hospital where the ICU’s are located. The idea of taking people out of the medical care equation is deplorable. When recuperating from trauma, surgery, or illness patients need to know people care. They don’t need to know the camera mounted above their beds works and the mounted speaker doesn’t sound to tinny.
This last little bit is really just for the folks in Missouri. Some of our state congressmen want to go after fathers of illegitimate children and force them to pay for the delivery costs. Since the citizens of Missouri are currently picking up the tab for about 43% of all births in this state then make these deadbeats pay through the nose. Just because they think things ended when they got their pants zipped up, doesn’t give them a free pass.
All of this put me to thinking about some of the other cost saving measures our new governor has taken since he was sworn in. Governor Blunt has gone through state entitlement programs cutting away like a madman. He has tried to balance the budget solely on the shoulders of the poor and disabled of our state. Meanwhile, government officials continue to collect high salaries without sacrificing one single penny. Governor Blunt is quite young, especially for this type of office. At first I thought it would be no problem but obviously he is far to immature and inexperienced to carry such responsibility. Unfortunately for the citizens in this state there is no recall provision in our constitution. Well, at least not yet.

Notes From All Over

Well, as always there’s news from the Muslim Scum Club, or about them at least. It seems the London authorities investigating the recent spate of bombings there have established a link between the bunch that struck on July 7 and the group that botched the attempt more recently. I don’t think anyone is surprised by this, at least I know I’m not. Another thing about this group or groups, is that a few months ago members of both teams of bombers, were on a rafting trip in Wales. It is said to have been some type of bonding experience for them. Nice to see that the crazy “people” (their a chromosome or two short of being human in my opinion) of this world are making good use of modern psychology.
The Iraqi franchise of the Muslim Slum Club, Baghdad Yellowbellies Inc., had one of their members drive a truck into a crowd near a police station in Baghdad and blow himself up while killing 22 civilians. Isn’t this a wonderful way to wage war? Talk people into killing themselves while killing non-combatants that will make no difference in the final outcome of the conflict. Many call these individuals suicide bombers but they aren’t. They are homicide bombers. Low life scum that kill for no reason but the pleasure they receive from others suffering.
Also from Iraq, a Marine was killed by a roadside bomb (the method of a pedigreed coward) near the town of Rutbah. Our thanks and respect go to him and our sympathies go out to his family for their great loss. “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13 ESV)
The Afghanistan chapter of the Muslim Scum Club seems to be having a little trouble. I hope all those who oppose our presence there because “it isn’t making a difference” are listening. Their ranks have been diminished so badly by the conflict since the country’s liberation that they are recruiting boys as young as 14 out of sheer desperation. They are also, in those miniscule areas they still control, forcing families to give one son to the fight. So, to our fighting forces in Afghanistan I can only say thanks and keep up the good work.
Some of the news services made a big deal out of the fact the Pope pray that God would stop “the murderous hand” of the terrorist in London, Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. I have no problem with that, there are many things that point to the fact that only God can stop this senseless murders. There are several problems with the news item though. First, the Pope is just an ordinary man and his prayers are no more listened to than those of the rest of us. Millions of people around the world are praying about the war on terror every day. Second, the Muslims see Christianity as the religion of infidels so what good is a news item about prayer being offered by one of that faiths major figures. The fact that the prayer was offered up from his vacation villa in the Italian Alps doesn’t help either. It presents the wrong image and in the minds of the Muslims and helps cement the case against Christianity. The fact that he (the Pope) is about to head off to his summer home south of Rome doesn’t really help improve the situation.
Fred Thompson, the man that is spearheading the efforts to have John G. Roberts Jr. confirmed by the Senate was on Meet the Press today. Nothing really special came out but he did reconfirm the fact that the judge won’t be making comments about hypothetical or already decided cases. It seems the liberals just can’t accept the fact that the next Supreme Court Justice won’t deliberately breach accepted ethical practices. Makes you wonder about their standards doesn’t it?
Tim Russert brought up the fact that Sandra Day O’Conner, the retiring justice is disappointed that Roberts isn’t a woman. Now I may be simple minded but if the qualifications for the post include being female isn’t that gender bias against qualified male candidates? It’s something to think about anyway.
The government is stockpiling vaccines incase a human version of the bird flu (see yesterday’s post) threatens our population. So far they have 2.3 million doses on hand and are negotiating for 2 million more. The problem is that the World Health Organization recommends that a country have enough on hand equivalent to 25% of their population. Even with the 2 million doses being sought, this will leave us a 62 million dose shortage. Perhaps congress might want to consider forgetting about digging up dirt on Roberts or Rove for the present and worry about protecting its citizens from a deadly disease.

London Police Say "Oooooooooooooooops!"

The Dumbocrats are at it again. It’s hard to say just which of their two talents are coming to the forefront in their latest bit of political trickery. It could be their talent for being really stupid, or their talent for being a giant pain in the a@#. Of course, one of the biggest dummies in the Dumbocratic party is of course leading the way, none other than Charles Schumer of New York. It seems the Dumbocrats want the President to turn over all internal memorandums written by John G. Roberts while he was with the Solicitor General’s Office. The White House is of course taking the common sense approach and saying no.
Haven’t these fools ever heard of attorney client privilege? Not only that, what possible use could they be? Do they think he wrote some memo that demanded all people in the opposition party paint their ears green or something? The sheer gall something like this takes is staggering but the scary part is they just may be stupid enough to believe they can get away with it.
Here’s what I propose to do. In order to keep the Dumbocrats from loosing face, but still allow them to have sufficient paperwork to go through, let’s all send them our used Charmin! Be sure to get their home address and send all of it there. It will make it much easier for them.
Here’s something that will really make your day. It seems that under Medicare’s rather bizarre payment schedule, if a hospital or doctor does a bad job, they will end up receiving more money than one that does a good job on the same procedure. Here’s how the scam works. At hospital number one patient A has surgery on their heart. At hospital number two patient B has the same type surgery on their heart. At hospital number one patient A gets an infection and needs another operation. At hospital two, patient B has an uneventful recovery and goes home in a few days. Hospital one is paid for two surgery and many more days of care. Hospital two is paid for one surgery and a minimum number of patient care days.
How bad is it? The state of Louisiana ranks at the 50th position when it comes to overall patient care quality and number one in dollars taken in for medical care. A study done over three decades by Dartmouth Medical School showed that one dollar out of every three is spent on inappropriate or unnecessary treatments. It is things like at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center performed 24 heart surgeries and out of that number 13 of the patients had post operative infections requiring further surgery that is driving health care cost through the roof.
Medicare has standards and is supposed to enforce minimal levels of competency in patient care. However, they seldom if ever actually enforce these standards. One case a hospital was inspected and should have been assessed $323,800 in fines. The amount was reduced to $95,000 to “avoid what could be a lengthy appeal.” It is attitudes like this that account for the fact that Medicare spends less than 0.01% of its budget on maintaining or improving medical care.
A survey was recently done in both Japan and the good old U. S. A. that showed that while 60% of Americans believe there will be a third world war in their lifetime, on 33% of Japanese citizens hold the same belief. Not exactly earth shattering news but I thought it was interesting. One Japanese citizen stated that “……… the Japanese people are not interested in things like war.” Yeah, their history shows that. Samurai, military dictatorships, and life philosophies that translate “the way of the warrior.” Sure, I feel much better now.
Japan is still interested in war. The difference is that now they wage it through economics and not battles. Just look at the number of cars on the road that are Japanese made. Sure, they’re made here in American right? Put an embargo on importing Japanese auto parts and see how long the plants stay open. They are assembled here from what amount to little more than “car kits.” They are MADE in Japan!
Yesterday I wrote about he “bombing suspect” the police in London shot and killed. I had even heard on one news show that one witness claimed he had a gun. It turns out that this poor man was from Brazil and not linked to the bombings (according to current reports) in any way. My sympathy goes out to his family and my apologies to my readers for the misinformation. Guess you just can’t trust some national news agencies.

First off and no news to anyone is the fact that much of the country is suffering with a massive heat wave, so:
Drink plenty of water and/or natural fruit juices.
Wear loose fitting clothing. (Cotton is best)
Avoid alcoholic beverages.
Use sun screen.
Eat frequent small meals.

Lot’s of stuff going on today. Tragically the Muslim Scum Club has struck again, this time in Egypt. It seems at least four car bombs detonated near a hotel in one of their busier resort cities. Twenty five people are dead and one hundred and ten are wounded. The number of dead will probably go up since many of the wounded are in critical condition. Officials say it is associated with the Palestinian Israel violence, but that’s just a franchise of the world wide Muslim Scum Club organization.
John G. Roberts, President Bush’s nominee for the Supreme Court was making visits to Capital Hill paving the way for his confirmation hearings. While he was in the office of Senator Charles Schumer gave him a list of sixty questions he plans to ask during those hearings. One of them is “Do you believe Roe v. Wade was correctly decided?” I sure glad that the Dumbocrats aren’t using a one issue litmus test to determine a persons qualifications to be a member of the highest court in the country.
Remember that statement from the legal brief filed with the Supreme Court everyone is making so much of? Well, I managed to get a copy and I have found just where that small excerpt comes from. The brief argues that laws stating that organizations receiving federal funds (under Title X)cannot offer, counsel for, or refer for abortions do not restrict that organizations free speech. The point is made that if Roe v. Wade were overturned, the whole issue would be mute. If the writers of this brief are guilty of anything it is of stating the painfully obvious.
The World Health Organization is concerned that the bird flu will combine with a human strand and cause a pandemic that will kill millions world wide. You thought the lines were long last year for flu shots? Just wait. If this news gets out the recent vaccine shortage will seem like a cake walk. This issue will need to watched carefully in case the WHO’s fears become reality.
A lot of liberal weenies are all upset because London police shot and killed a bombing suspect. They can’t seem to figure out what made the police want to talk to the gentleman. Aside from the fact he was wearing heavy padded coat in July and took off as soon as the police approached him were two pretty good reasons to begin with. Then it seems at least one person saw what appeared to be a gun in the mans hand. Put another way they did the job they are getting paid to do. Let’s not condemn them, let’s pray that what they were forced to do will not haunt them in years to come. They have done nothing wrong.
The mother of one of the bombing suspects says he was a sweet son and she can’t figure out how this happened. She says he was a good son, brother, husband and father. Sure he was. He loved his family so much that he’d rather blow himself up than support his wife and son. He’d rather blow himself into people schmort than raise his son with proper values and morals. I truly feel sorry for his mother, sister, wife and his young son. As for him he made a choice and died because of it. So what?
The leaders in the Muslim community of London are nervous since the shooting. Seems they fear they may be harmed. Why? Are they going to murder people too? They’re nervous because they know they are directly linked to a group of low life murderers, but lack the back bone to point to these scum and say “That man is a killer!”
Believe it or not, there are people still complaining about John Kerry’s loss last November. I know, it was almost nine months ago and any reasonable person has since moved on. However, while visiting with Teddy Kennedy today Mel Watt (D. North Carolina) said he wondered what the Supreme Court nominee would look like if “the junior Senator from Massachusetts” had made it. Come on Mel, grow up. Kerry lost and it’s time to get over it! This attitude has won Mel the very first PeeDee award. He’s an absolute Political Dunce!
This last bit of news is presented for no other reason than to send you on your way with a good laugh. A school teacher who repeatedly seduced a fourteen year old student is about to go on trial. Her lawyer says he will argue that she was insane at the time from stress over her divorce and therefore not responsible for her actions. In addition (this is for real) he states she is too pretty to go to jail. Obviously another fine graduate of Joe’s Bait Shop and Law School.

Today is a day that will go down in history. After watching our nations fine political leaders our editorial staff (that’s me) has decided that we will shortly a announce the first recipient of the “PeeDee” award. These awards will be given out periodically as our political leaders earn them. The name PeeDee is a takeoff on the initials PD which other than Pirates Den also stands for “Political Dunce.” With all of the rhetoric and political posturing over the nomination of John G. Roberts there is no doubt that someone will distinguish themselves and take home the first of these prestigious awards.
NOW(W) is already speaking out against the presidents pick for the Supreme Court. Not surprisingly, the National Organization of Witless Wonders seems a little less than accurate in their assessment of the situation. In order to point out how “unqualified” Judge Roberts is, they begin by griping about he goals of the Reagan Administration. What Ronald Reagan’s policies have to do with John Roberts qualifications today are beyond my understanding. Granted, Mensa isn’t busting down my door to beg me to join but I am intelligent enough to know that what a man out of office for seventeen years and dead for one are not dictating the views of a Appeals Court judge today. Hopefully the leaders of NOW will come out of their coma soon and make an intelligent statement on the issue.
One of the lesser known but most bizarre groups speaking out against John Roberts is the Progressive Action Network for American Progress. This group is working hard to earn the record or the largest number of loopy statement on one website. They say that Judge Roberts views are “extremely extreme.” This sounds like they saying a person is tiredly tired or in this case stupidly stupid. They follow this by stating they are in favor of stem cell research and that they fear that Roberts will use the Patriot Act to “extend the draft to their unwanted fetuses.” I know our military is stretched thin right now, that recruitment quotas are not being met but I don’t think anyone is in favor of drafting anyone at such a young age. If this isn’t weird enough they also worry about someone raising “a Rush Limbaugh Jesus Army.” They don’t explain this fear but I am in hopes they will do so in a day or so. Who knows, maybe they had to quit posting to their web site because it was time for their medication.
Even the FindLaw web page is getting into the act. They carried an AP article today that claims that because Judge Roberts (rightly) decided that the constitution does not apply to non-Americans, arrested in another country and held in yet another country he is going “against 200 years of constitutional law.” I don’t recall a single passage in the constitution that gives rights the same rights of our citizens to our foreign enemies. Before it is said, no, the terrorist are not entitled to the Geneva Convention protection since they are not signatory’s of the document. Also, I’d be willing to bet the farm that the Geneva treaty does not include beheading as an acceptable practice.
Much of what I have spoken of the last few days is opinion, mine and others. The reality is that Judge Roberts is not a well known figure and there is more we don’t know that what we do at this point. All we can say right now with absolute certainty is that he does not seek the limelight, a strange quality for someone who has been in Washington for so long. What we all must do is wait and learn who Judge Roberts really is, what he really believes, how he understands his duties and responsibilities under the constitution. The only purpose this raucous hyperbole can do at this point is cloud the issue and make for the real possibility of missing the facts needed to make an informed decision.

Big news! It seems that the liberals are less than satisfied with the nomination of John G. Roberts to the Supreme Court. When I heard that you could have knocked me over with a feather! OK, maybe I wasn’t quite that surprised. It seems that the Dumbocrats feel that the friend of their enemy is their enemy. It’s not exactly how the old adage goes but it is as close as the Dumbocrats can get without activating their second brain cell. I know, none of this is news but when people are so narrow minded that their behavior can be predicted so accurately, it doesn’t leave much to talk about.
John Kerry, the Senator from Massachusetts and former presidential candidate come through with his typical linguistic panache. In other words he missed the target by a country mile. Apparently he fears that John Roberts on the Supreme Court will threaten Americans right to privacy, especially as it pertains to Roe v. Wade. How is he wrong, let me count the ways. First off, he is totally ignoring what the man has said on that very topic. He made it clear in 2003 that he accepts the Roe v Wade decision as the “settled law of the land.” This makes it clear that he has n plans or desires to overturn the precedent, but Kerry seems to have missed this fact. Also, Roe v. Wade has noting to do with privacy. It never has. If a women’s pregnancy is a matter of privacy why is it a common practice to print the names of mothers and fathers of all the new borns in a local news paper? If it is acceptable to announce Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Smith’s latest bundle of joy, then how is killing that child a matter of privacy? If anyone can come up with an intelligent answer to this variation in thinking let me know.
Many people believe that there will not be any attempt at a filibuster as there has been with all of the other Bush judicial nominees. The head of the Senate judiciary said that this doesn’t seem to be a filibuster creating nominee and even Feinstein of California, who is so far to the left she has to communicate with fellow liberals by cell phone, claims there will be no filibuster. What strikes me as curious is that Leahy is quoted as stating “It will take sufficient time and a great deal of hard work for the committee to prepare for these hearings.” Hmmmmm perhaps long enough to keep him off the bench at the start of the new session in October? A filibuster by any other name . . .
Some are even griping about the fact that just days ago Judge Roberts was in agreement with an Appeals Court decision allowing military tribunals for the terrorists suspects being held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. What do they expect to do with them? A new set of clothes, fifty dollars in their pocket and then a nice little bungalow in the suburbs? These are enemy combatants, dressed in civilian clothing plotting and carrying out ways to kill Americans. They are not American citizens, they were arrested outside of American borders and currently reside outside of this country. The constitution does not apply. They are enemy agents and should, no MUST treated accordingly. John Roberts has the intelligence to know this and the back bone to say so. He deservers our respect, not the contempt of a few left wing malcontents.
Chuck Schumer of New York isn’t happy either but is on even less solid ground that most liberals. He claims that Judge Roberts is not qualified because he “told” the Supreme Court they were wrong in the Roe v Wade decision. As I mentioned yesterday, Judge Roberts was co-author of a brief that stated in part that Roe v Wade was “wrongly decided” and should be overturned. This was an expression of his legal opinion at that time and was not, nor can the intelligent mind construe it as telling the court anything. (This is not the last time we will hear of this document I’m sure so I am going to attempt to get a copy of it for a full quotation in a day or two so stay tuned).
The Alliance for Justice far and away takes the prize for stupid reasons too oppose this nomination. They are against Mr. Roberts not because of his record on case law, not for opinions expressed in written form or in speeches. They are against him for no other reason than George Bush nominated him. That’s right, it doesn’t matter who the man is, it doesn’t matter what he has or hasn’t done, the only thing that matters is who says he should be on the bench. After a few more days of checking his background I’m sure the Alliance for Justice will realize he is totally unqualified for the Supreme Court because his third grade teacher wore tennis shoes every other Friday. Stand by for up to the minute updates on this critical issue.

Supreme Court Nominee

President George Bush has nominated Appeals Court Judge John G. Roberts to the supreme court to replace retiring justice Sandra Day O’conner. Although there is nothing in Judge Roberts background that makes him stand out in either a good or a bad way (which is a good thing in and of itself in my humble opinion), the pro abortion minority of our population will now proceed to have apoplectic seizures every time the media is within five hundred feet. Why you ask? Simple. Judge Roberts was a co-author of a brief which contained the statement “we continue to believe that roe was wrongly decided and should be overruled.” They will of course forget to mention and quite probably make a concerted effort to keep hidden the fact that during his 2003 confirmation hearings for his present position he stated “Roe v. Wade is the settled law of the land, . . . . there’s nothing in my personal views that would prevent me from fully and faithfully applying that precedent.” After all, if the dumbocrats admitted he took this position, they would have to confirm with little argument, and just the thought of that would make them blow chow all over the Senate chambers.

What will rankle the Dumbocrats more than anything else is that Judge Roberts has been low key, staying below the radar during his legal career. This gives them little to gripe about and that in itself will give them all the more incentive to gripe. Since the party as a whole hasn’t had a good idea since 1962 they would much more prefer someone who has tried to legislate from the bench like the vast majority of Dumbocrat judges try and do. I can just picture them crying into their champagne and caviar because they can’t find anything in Judge Roberts past to whine about. Really, how dare President Bush nominate a man that pays attention to what the constitution and the law says, rather than bending it to meet his own warped and self serving desires and standards? Doesn’t he realize that it is his duty to give them something to whine about, something to keep their limited attention span from drifting towards other matters such as remembering to fire their car detailer since he took the roach that was stashed in the ashtray of their BMW.

What will be of particular interest will be what Queen Hilary has to say when she graciously descends from on high to speak to all of us common folk. She and Judge Roberts are absolute opposites. He has had a career of noteworthy accomplishments but makes no fuss about it while she has done nothing of value in her life and makes much ado about that nothing. Yes, the next couple of weeks of political hyperbole should be quite interesting indeed.

Rehnquist Announcement

So, Rehnquist isn’t going to retire. This is a real pity since no good can come of it. I’m thrilled with the idea of a man like George Bush being able to appoint one judge to the bench. This can make such a huge difference in the way cases are decided in years to come, but if he’d been able to make two appointments then the court could take a major turn towards intelligence. With the right people in place and the right case before them, the court could rid the nation of the tragedy of Roe v Wade and saved the lives of countless millions of innocent children. The citizens of this country could sleep at night knowing their property ownership would be safe from thieves. We would know that some developer wouldn’t be able to come along and steal it from us so he could build some shopping mall or office building that a properly purchased local government decided was for the “greater good” of the community. Another key factor is that Rehnquist is simply too old for the job. The stress and strain of such a position is far too much for a man of his age fighting such a severe illness. With the radiation and/or chemo therapy he will be left weak and sapped of his strength to be an effective justice, much less the added responsibility of chief justice.
I have no doubt that he loves our nation and its constitution and seeks only to do what is right for both. The fact that he probably supplied the ink for the original constitution doesn’t give him the right to stay on past his time of usefulness. I am not against elderly people, they have been shunted aside and ignored for far too long in our culture. However, when age and disease make one so frail and infirm that they can barely walk, their ability to contribute must legitimately be called into question. He moves so slowly they have had to add an extra ten minutes at the beginning and end of the daily session so the other justices don’t just leave him behind in the changing room. His stoop has become so bad that he has to look up to see a child’s knees.
Come on Willy, step down. Let some of us born after the revolution have a chance to shape our nations destiny.

One Last Little Bit About The Muslim Scum Club

One last little bit about the Muslim terrorist and the “prophet” they hold in high esteem. Dear old Mohammed is known to have “married” a fourteen year old girl, which in any other circles would win him the label of child molester, or pedophile. Of course we can’t do that since it is the Muslim religion. It would be considered discriminatory, mean even. If such a story were tied to any influential member of the Christian faith it would be in the news paper headlines every other day and a television news special twice a week just so no one forgot. Something else I find fascinating is that while Mohammed was alive and spreading the word of his new religion, most that heard him ridiculed him[1]. His followers always seem to forget that tidbit when talking about him. I know, they’re too busy “saving” the world from “the great Satan” (aka the United States) but they were going to bring it up the very next time an opportunity presented itself. Guess the people of that day realized they were witnessing the ravings of a crazy man that should have been locked in a rubber tent.
Something else I find very interesting although not what you can call hard core proof of anything. It seems that Mohammed’s father died BEFORE he was born[2]. In and of itself this does not prove anything about Mohammed or his mother but it does raise some intriguing questions. First off is just how long before his birth did his father die? Had daddy been away from home for any length of time some nine months or so before his birth? Does the fact that his mother died just a few years later mean anything? Did daddy die of natural causes? Did dear old mom? Does the fact that an uncle played a major role in his upbringing after his parents death mean anything? Like I said, nothing can really be proven but id does make me really curious about the family background of this renowned “religious” leader.

Terrorist not "Insurgents"

Today I’m not going to go off on the terrorist bombings in London as I have been. There are plenty of other idiots to talk about. For example the “insurgents” in Iraq. These guys are no more insurgents than I’m Batman! By definition, an insurgent is a rebel, a person who wishes to change their nations government by force if necessary. Our own founding fathers could easily be labeled as insurgents, members of the Confederacy also could have worn this label. Even the thought of placing the criminal scum club members in Iraq in the same grouping as the brave heroes who fought in these two conflicts is enough to turn a persons stomach. These “people” are terrorist pure and simple. They are individuals that enter Iraq from other countries with no other purpose than to murder innocent men women and children to promote tyranny in the name of an empty religion.
One example of just how far their claims are from reality and truth is in the word Jihad itself. They claim it is some type of holy war, a noble cause to wipe out false religion and spread their own faith to all non-believers. In reality jihad is a call for Muslims to surrender themselves and their property to the path of Allah[1], nothing is said of war, holy or otherwise. In those definitions of jihad in which war is spoken of it is done so only in the context of those who pose a direct threat to the community[2]. How these innocent civilians were threatening the Muslim community is anybody’s guess. Maybe the vibrations from the military convoys were making their couscous fall, or curdle or something, I don’t know. The point is, the members of the Muslim Scum Club that are responsible for this tragic act of war cannot lay claim to any truly legitimate cause for their actions.
By carrying out these acts of terror, these unprovoked acts of the Muslim Scum Club is not only a violation of the principles of jihad, they are acts of murder which goes directly contrary to the Qur’an. Like the true word of God, the Holy Bible, the Qur’an forbids lying, stealing, adultery and murder[3]. This puts the perpetrators in a double violation of their “holy” book. The very nature of the acts makes them murder which is forbidden (see above) but by claiming it as justifiable and in God’s name is about as big a lie as you can get.
These people have no real faith in God. They have only a hatred of anything or anyone that is different than they are and must destroy it, remove any trace of it so they can feel almost human themselves. Their own lives are so pitiful, so empty of true meaning that they cannot stand the thought of someone else having a life with true purpose. Deep down inside, down in the innermost part of their being they know they are empty of true meaning, of anything that gives their lives value, gives their
existence meaning. The only way they can feel any purpose, any genuine humanness within themselves is to destroy all those that they know that have risen to a higher level of humanness than they ever dream of. In that fact lies yet one more tragedy.

Just A Few More Thoughts On The Arab Scum Club

I heard today that there's like three or four groups claiming credit for the London bombings. That's really something. I mean here they are claiming to be a "religion of peace" and they are to stupid to know if they did something or not. OK, I'll give them a little credit. They probably know whether they actually had a part in the bombings or not, they're just to stupid to know the difference between a lie and the truth. Wouldn't you love to have these "brave soldiers" fighting for your freedom? I sure would! Well, after the Martians fighting for me now quit and go home. No, I don't think there are real Martians fighting for my freedom or in any other context. However, before I ever consider calling these low life scum brave, freedom fighters, or intelligent.
Let's face it, one of these individuals was so smart he couldn't resist fiddling with the bomb while riding the bus to catch the train. The result? He blew himself (OK, that's a definite plus, at least he's out of the gene pool) and the bus to bits. The tragedy is that he took so many decent people with him.
Maybe it would help if these bozo's hired some professional advisers. You know, someone a little smarter than they are to help them with the really difficult decisions like whether or not they should kill innocent people for no reason. If you hear of them wanting to hire such advisors I have a couple of rocks I would recommend for the job. There's no doubt that the rocks are smarter than the membership of the Arab Scum Club.

Muslim Scum Club

This business in London is really a downer. Simple people doing no more than going to work or other daily activities and suddenly their lives are turned upside down or worse, ended. One source is apparently saying that this could be just a quickly put together idea by some independent activist rather than an organized strike by a know Muslim Scum Club. Four bombs, one hour, more than thirty dead? Naw man, some cowardly member of one of the larger Scum Clubs planned this and then sent lesser Scum Club members out to do his bidding while he stayed nice and safe somewhere else. I've tried real hard but I can't come up with a single instance in history where such a large group of people were such monumental cowards. These scum suckers can't even look someone in the face and declare their hatred. They have to hide behind video tapes and gullible children to get their "message" out. As bad as he was, Adolph Hitler had more morals and character than these piggish Scum Club members.
Another thing. I am willing to bet the farm that some of the Scum Club members that we currently have in our guest quarters in Guantonemo knew this was coming and refused to open up and tell anyone. I am not in favor of torture or anything, however there are other ways too get them to be open up. Here are a couple I think would work and would be willing to do if they would only let me:
1. Take the guest from his cell to the interagation room and ask for the information you need. Next, assuming he is too much of a coward to talk take him to the new group of cells just built. When you have gotten to his cell location explain to him the choice he needs to make. Choice one, on the left is the non-talkers cell. It is also were we keep our herd of swine. On the right is our talkers cell, clean, dry, nice bed and all the other amenities. Then allow him to make his choice.
2. When the guest has refused several different times to be a man and answer the questions put to him, give him a new dietary supplement. Make sure that all of his food is pork or cooked in or with pork products. Make sure it is good nurishing food, but all of it careved from, cooked in, or cooked with a pork product.
For those who say this is cruel, tell that to the spouses without a mate, the child without a father or mother in London tonight. Maybe this sounds a bit extreme, even cruel but what choice do we have? We are dealing with people (?) that are too much of a coward to stand up and show themselves. To cowardly to fight a real war against a real army. Instead they must hide in the shadows and bomb innocent women and children. It is difficult to concieve of a lower life form than these vile and loathsome members of the Muslim Scum Club.
Yes, there are good Muslims. I've just never met one nor do I know anyone who has. I also know that they are not good enough or man enough to point to the bad Muslims so they can be stopped before more innocent children die for the viewing pleasure of the Muslim Scum Club.

Bottoms Up!!!

I went to a funeral today. Funerals are always depressing events but this one seemed more so since the man who died committed suicide. Oh, he didn’t take a bunch of pills, put a gun to his head and pull the trigger or put a noose around his neck and step off into space. In fact, he didn’t even realize he was committing suicide the whole time he was in the process of preparing for his death. No, he would even say that I was crazy for making such a statement as he committed suicide, but facts are facts and there’s not a thing I can do to change that.
Last Saturday we had what is known as Buffalo Days around these parts. It’s sort of a town wide block party with a little carnival and crafts show thrown in. It’s a Memorial Day weekend tradition and has been for many years. Doug, the man whose funeral was today, took his fourteen year old son to town to join in the festivities and entertained himself by spending the day in a bar. Late that afternoon, Doug decided it was time to head for home so he loaded up his son, girl friend, and his sons buddy into the family pickup and took off down the road. Just three miles outside of town the days activities caught up with him and Doug lost control of the truck. He over corrected as he tried to get back on the road and sideswiped one car and struck another head on. Doug and his girl friend died at the scene. The son’s friend is in a coma and will spend the rest of his life as an invalid if he lives at all. Doug’s son, although not seriously hurt physically, is walking around in a mental fog unable to deal with what he has been through.
Oh yes, one other small detail. Doug actually survived the wreck itself but was pinned in by the force of the crash. The truck then caught fire and Doug engulfed in the flames, died screaming for someone to please shoot him and end his agony.

What Label Do You Wear

Ever give a thought of how many "labels" or identifiers we carry with us through life? I mean every time you turn around someone is pinning another label on you. Every election day you are labeled as to how you vote, Republican, Democrat, Independent, liberal, conservative and a wide variety of subcategories depending on who is doing the labeling. Each of us carries another label tied to how you choose to make a living. You can be identified as a carpenter, lawyer, doctor, painter, and on and on this list can go. Even when we take time to relax, to get away from the occupational label we pick up yet another identifier such as fisherman, hunter, writer, poet, model builder and again on and one this list can go. If these labels were not enough you are also labeled as to your race or national origin, the geographical area you come from, and even your religion, and this label is the cruelest and most ungodly of them all.

How long has it been since when asked for their religious preference you've heard them reply simply Christian? A long time I'm sure. The answer invariably something more along the line of Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, or some other denomination identifier rather than with the name of our Savior. Many of you may say, "So, that's what I am." This may well be true but it is not the way Jesus taught, and is only part of the truth, a very small part at that. No one in the early church would answer a question about their religion by speaking of some denomination. It is far more likely that they would answer by saying that they were a Christian or perhaps "I am a follower of Jesus of Nazareth." Both answers are short and to the point. Both answers identify the speaker with a very specific person and a precise set of beliefs.
In Galatians 3: 28 Paul makes it quite clear that as Christians that is the only label that matters to God. He said: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, the is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Jesus Christ.” Nationality was an important identifier in the days of the apostle. Remember in his early life Paul was known as “Saul of Tarsus.” But in God he became Paul, slave of Jesus Christ, son of God. Why in this day of increased knowledge do we presume to know more than Paul, or in reality God’s Holy Spirit, under whose guidance he wrote those words. In Ephesians the apostle teaches “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” ( Eph. 4: 1-3) Identifying oneself with a denominational label, and not directly with Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior, hardly lives up to this commandment.

As if denominational labels are not bad enough, many people take it even further with a sub-label within their denominational label. There are many people that once they have identified themselves as “Baptist” (or some other denomination) will say that they are a “conservative Baptist.” Was Jesus a “conservative” when he traveled the known world and, “... to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.” He never identified himself as “Paul the Baptist apostle,” only as Paul, ambassador of Jesus Christ. If this is not enough to clearly show that denominationalism, dividing the body of Christ is not within His will, look at what He asked His father in prayer just hours before His crucifixion. “That they all may be one, just as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they may also be one in Us, that the world may believe that You have sent me.” (John 17: 21) Jesus was going to the cross in a matter of hours yet He was deeply concerned that His people, His church be united under one label, one identifier. He wanted us to be known as followers of God the Father, through God he Son, empowered by God the Holy Spirit.”

If these two labels are not bad enough, there are yet others that are so clearly unscriptural that it is hard to even think about, let alone have to admit it actually exists and seems to be growing in popularity. Many educated Christians identify themselves as either Armenian or Calvinist. What can they possibly mean by such statements? Oh, they will say that they prefer the teachings of one or the other of these sects above that of the other. Why? What makes such thoughts and ideas palatable among those who claim to follow Christ? Paul made it clear when he wrote, “For it has been reported to me by Chloe’s people that there is quarreling among you, my brothers. What I mean is that each one of you says. ‘I follow Paul,’ or ‘I follow Apollo’s’ or ‘I follow Cephas‘, or ‘I follow Christ.’” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? There is no medical evidence to support that, and there never will. For her uneducated clients, listening to the CD versus receiving medical attention could be a fatal decision.Phone calls from enough concerned citizens can make a difference.

Reality or Revolting?

I'm not sure how many of you are fans of Reality Television, those shows whose basic premise that the situations they deal with could be found in everyday life. It seems to me though that the reality is that the events that are portrayed are completely contrived and orchestrated . How many of you dream of going to some island with nothing but the clothes on your back and spend the next five and one half weeks fighting for survival? Perhaps you would consider jumping a car off the roof of a building and then feasting on cream of maggot soup as the perfect weekend getaway. If neither of these is your cup of tea you can always choose a spouse by finding a group of possible mates, put them through various trials and after eliminating one each week until you agree to marry the “winner.” What better way to launch a life of wedded bliss? The fact of the matter is no one would do any of these things unless someone was waving the possibility of a huge payoff in their faces. Thus, the reality of reality television is not the various stunts or endurance trials, but the reality how much of a fool people are willing to prove they are for a big enough pay day, and the networks see an opportunity for their own sizeable paycheck.

As disgusting as this demonstrated greed seems, sleaze TV, officially known as The Fox Broadcasting Network, is about to launch a show that will lower television standards at the quantum level. Their new show, called “Who’s My Daddy” will feature a young woman trying to determine which of the eight possibilities presented to her is her biological father. It is difficult to know just what to say about this., it is just wrong on so many levels. The first thing that hits me is how and why would a woman subject herself to constant scrutiny while going through the emotional turmoil of finding her father and beginning the process of learning just what kind of person he is? Since I have never met this woman I cannot even guess as to what her reasons are and will leave this issue to individual contemplation.

It is however, much easier to formulate a theory as to why Fox is pursuing the commercialization of what is one of the most emotionally traumatic events a person can go through, they want even more money than they already have. The fact that they have gone to the trouble and expense of making this “show” proclaims clearly their disdain of human decency, and their pursuit by any means of the almighty dollar. I fully expect that during the broadcast of this show it will be claimed many, many times how “pleased” they are to be able to help these two long separated family members be united at long last. Right after this statement will probably be an offer to sell the Brooklyn Bridge to the highest bidder. OK, they probably won’t offer to sell the Brooklyn Bridge, but any statement of altruistic motives will be as truthful as any such offer would be. The Fox Network has only one motive here and that is making as much money as they possibly can, no matter how tasteless and disgusting the methods they have to use.

Even if the woman facing the task of figuring out who her father is was allowed to do no more than interview each gentleman at length and without interference from the show or its staff, this would still be one of the lowest forms of “entertainment” to be forced on the American public. We know however, in an effort to make it more “challenging” or “entertaining” the shows staff will give her false information, taunt her with hints, and in a wide variety of ways mislead her as to which of the eight possibilities is her biological father. This will be done for no other reason than draw out the process and hook viewers into coming back next week as they too try and determine which man is the “unknown father.” This will have one more effect though, it will clearly demonstrate how heartless the Fox network executives are. Her hopes will be built up each week as she thinks (hopes) she knows who her father is, only to be dashed at the end of each show. This is not entertainment, it is however, a systematic, methodical emotional and psychological method of torture geared to make as much money as possible and tease the imaginations of a few twisted and simple minded viewers.

I was recently e-mailed an article (available at: http://www.csmoitor.com/2004/1213/p09s02-coop.html from the Christian Science Monitor on line edition dated December 13, 2004. Normally, I wouldn't read this publication but I'll admit this one caught my attention. It relates how the author, one Gena Caponi Tabery is concerned with having her Christian faith "hijacked to promote someone else's political agenda." It seems she prefers to be what I like to call an “under cover Christian. This sounds harmless, perhaps even laudable on the surface, but when a person refuses to pray in public, as this person does, under the guise of "having her faith hijacked," the insidiousness of her fears becomes clear.

When Tabery and her husband decided they did not want to pray in public it was an overt act of disrespect bordering on contempt, towards the very God she claims to worship. Such an act can convey no other message than “God is a big part of my private life, I just don’t want Him embarrassing me in public.” It’s just like the old days when crazy Aunt Gertrude was hidden away in the attic so she wouldn’t embarrass the family. Jesus made it abundantly clear that we are not to hide our faith in, our service to, or our devotion to Him. “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 10:33) To refuse to pray in public, as she and her husband choose to do, is no different than Peter’s denial when he said “I know not the man” while Jesus was on trial for His life. (Matt. 26: 72 & 74) Her acts clearly demonstrated how cowardly she and her husband really are. Afraid, can you believe it, afraid to acknowledge God in a public place!

In a desperate and very mistaken attempt to defend her actions and elicit sympathy for her fourteen year old son, she makes the statement, “in their suddenly very Christian public schools, football stadiums, and town meetings.” What planet is she living on? Christian clubs or groups are forbidden to meet on school grounds, papers written by students on their Christian faith are automatically given failing grades, Christian t-shirts cannot be worn on school grounds. Student initiated and lead prayer cannot be uttered at high school football games or other sporting events. If a prayer is said at any town hall or other government gathering unless it is to some faceless, nameless, generic god. But praying to the God of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac, the father of Jesus our Savior, specifically, are forbidden.

Mrs. Tabery does take considerable time to mention that she worships twice each Sunday, plays the organ for at least one services, prays for the poor, the sick, the dying, for mercy, peace, and justice. She also prays for our nation and takes communion. She makes it clear that she has worshipped “as a Christian” for more than fifty years. Notice that she says “as a Christian.” Looking at both this phrase and her behavior I am reminded of the old saying about just because your cat has kittens in the oven doesn’t make them biscuits.

Jesus teaches that “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matt. 7: 20) In other words by what a persons life looks like is how you can determine what and they are. If a persons life looks like what a Christians life should look like, then that is what they are. If a persons life looks like what a non-Christians life should look like, then that’s what they are. Granted, you cannot tell whether a piece of fruit is good or bad just by looking, but that is not our concern. We need only to know whether or not we are looking at an apple or an orange.

One of this person’s claims is how Christianity is being “hijacked” for political purpose or use. The absurdity of this statement is almost impossible to measure. Granted, Christianity is more in the spotlight since 9/11 and by the fact that our President is an outspoken Christian. Even so the persecution against the Christian faith grows day by day. Christianity is not being hijacked, it is being attacked. Being silent now, with this era of anti-Christian bias is surrendering to the opposition. Mrs. Tabery would probably say that is just more reason to keep one’s faith a secret. This argument has little credence when looked at in light of the facts of Christian history.

Very early in Christian history so much persecution rose up in Jerusalem that the average church member, the ordinary “pew setter” as many call them today had to leave their homes in Jerusalem and seek sanctuary in other cities and towns. They feared being jailed, killed, and tortured if they stayed where they were. Did they leave and go underground, try to become invisible to the authorities for their own protection? No, they didn’t. As the author of Acts puts it “Therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word.” (Acts 8: 4) These people didn’t try and “blend in” with the rest of the world, they spoke up and proclaimed Jesus Christ and their allegiance to Him. To hide your faith, no matter the reason, is to deny your faith. To deny your faith is to deny Jesus Christ.

Jesus never asked for “undercover disciples.” He never said He wanted or needed a bunch of secret agents to infiltrate society without society having any idea of who we really are. Never has anyone testified that they became a Christian because of how well someone hid their faith. Hiding your faith, never speaking up for Jesus in fear of “offending” someone, is no different than proclaiming from the house top, “I know not the man.” Jesus commanded us to go throughout the world teaching in His name and making disciples. This cannot be done by keeping your mouth shut. Next time you are surrounded by non-Christians, by people facing an eternity in the fires of hell, think of what Paul asked, “....... how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?”

God's people have written songs of praise and comfort since the first days of the church. Through sheer numbers many fade into obscurity and their wonderful words become forgotten or lost to us. I am going to try and post the lyrics to one of these great old hymns each week if for no other purpose than that they will bring comfort to a few hearts as they did to so many hearts years ago. QUACK QUACK, The Doctor Is In

Rather than offering up one of my brilliant and insightful opinions, this post will serve more of an educational purpose. I hope that I will be able to alert some poor soul who may at this very moment be suffering from an insidious new psychological disorder affecting a growing number of people. I recently heard a report on this new condition on a popular radio talk show, and then was able to verify its existence and pervasive nature. Its formal name is Post Election Selection Trauma, or more commonly PEST. It seems to affect democrats that are literally at their wits end because Kerry blew the election.

I am not making this up. There is at least one counselor located in Boca Raton Florida treating people for this condition which was given its official designation by the Florida chapter of the American Health Association. This psychological counselor is treating at least fifteen patients for this condition and others have made the same claim. Sleepness, depression, and anxiety for what the future holds with G. W. Bush still in the White House are just some of the presenting symptoms of this twenty first century malady. This person in Boca Raton is treating his clients with intense psychotherapy and hypnosis as well as group therapy sessions. This condition is being described as “very similar to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder only without the triggering childhood trauma” (actually, PTSD can occur with trauma at any age).

I am no psychologist. I am a psychology major and will graduate in May with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Counseling minor. Despite my lack of a complete education in psychology I feel certain that these poor people are being lied to and made victims by someone they should be able to trust completely, their counselor. I have discussed this with a number of my professors all with their doctorate in psychology and they agree without exception that this is all a lot of bunk. Being thrown into some type of psychological crisis over no more than some election results is beyond absurd. It sounds far more like someone wanted to move up to a newer and fancier Mercede's and has found an unsuspecting group of people to pay for it.

I am not saying that these people do not have some type of difficulty or that they don't need help to work through this difficulty. Most probably they do, but to blame it all on the results of the electoral college totals is just plain stupid. They now have being a victim of an unscrupulous counselor to make their already existing problems even worse. Beyond doubt this situation is a real tragedy. People already suffering from psychological and or emotional difficulties being taken advantage of by some near relative of Daffy Duck can be called nothing less. I just hope and pray that these people will seek out an honest and skilled counselor before any real damage is done. I also hope that this "gentleman" in Boca Raton will also seek help in the very near future since he obviously is in serious need of psychological help.

Give Peace A Chance

It seems not a day goes by that we don't hear about more of our brave and dedicated military personel dying at the hands of some psychopathic homicide bomber in Iraq. I know it is probably a waste of time and words, but I'd like say a word or two to those that are orchestratring these bombings, the brave gentlemen who think fighting a war is done by sending others out to deliberately kill themselves and hopefully a few enemy at the same time.

In 1969, Paul McCartney and John Lennon wrote and published a song and its lyrics point out the futile nature of so much of what we get excited about on a day to day basis and makes a rather simple request. Why not read through them and take the meaning to heart?

Holiday Reality

It's the holiday season. That is to say, Christmas is fast approaching. Of course since this is a nation founded on the idea that everyone has the right to worship GOD, that is THE ONE TRUE GOD, we cannot say Christmas out loud. If we did we might offend some self appointed genius that chooses to demonstrate by proving he is incapable of seeing the blatantly obvious fact that GOD and ONLY GOD created and controls this world. Personally, not only do I mind offending such neanderthals, I rather enjoy it, but that’s a story for another time.

Christmas is not just the “Winter Holiday.” It is not a time or season that signals “peace on Earth” (God has never said He would give us peace and joy in this life). Society tells us this is a time of peace towards our fellow man. If that’s the case explain why people are dying in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Balkans, and the streets of our own nation, all due to war and hatred. Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of Christ, God’s Son. A day to worship the only Son of God as He came to Earth in the body of man, and lived and worked as He faced the same temptations, the same trials and difficulties you and I do each and everyday. As staggering as this fact is, God in the form of man, it is not the key to why Christmas should be special to each and everyone of us. It has nothing to do with mangers, stables, wise men or shepherds. It is not about fancy wrapping paper, bows and ribbons, bells, jingling or otherwise. Its meaning is not found in reindeer with nasal deformities, or a fat old man wearing a garish red suit and has never existed except in the warped imaginations of mankind. It has nothing to do with getting that sweater, video game, ugly tie, or new set of roller blades you want for yourself or think aunt Martha would love to have. In fact, the magic of celebrating the birth of Jesus, the meaning of reverencing His coming to Earth, the very heart of why this day is special has nothing to do with the day itself.

Yes, Jesus was born of a virgin, born in a stable and laid in a manger, He was visited and worshipped by wise men (and still is) and shepherds. Herod did try and have him killed and He was taken into Egypt for safety and upon Herod’s death, His family returned to Israel and He was raised in Nazareth. His parents were forced to return to Jerusalem after a Passover visit and search frantically for their first born, as He remained behind confounding the temple “wise” and “learned” leaders. But still we have not arrived at that moment, that very special moment that makes Christmas worth celebrating, worth keeping in our hearts for the other 364 days of the year.

He once was a guest at a wedding in the village of Canan and turned plain water into the finest wine many of the other guest had ever tasted. He walked beside the Sea of Galilee and just by inviting them men left their families and livelihood to follow this stranger. By touch, by word, He healed the sick, the blind, the deaf, the demon possessed. By command people once dead were brought back to life. To say that this is amazing, is a substantial understatement, but even so, the magic, that special nature of Christmas doesn’t lie here either.

The act, the event, that makes Christmas so wondrously special actually occurred some thirty three years after the events in that cold stable. It began late one evening when a friend betrayed Jesus to the local religious authorities who were jealous of His popularity and fearful of His new and radical teachings. After His arrest Jesus was then tried before the nation’s highest religious court for a quick and illegal trial. After finding Him “guilty” they sent Him to the Romans, and managed to tell enough lies that He was sentenced to death. These lies were so pervasive, so numerous that Jesus’ own countrymen, who just the day before had listened to His every word, demanded His death as well. When given the opportunity to free Him rather than a known murderer, the masses cried out for His blood. It was at this time that the events that make Christmas so very, very special, began to take place.

Turned over to the jailers to be scourged, Jesus was beaten with a whip that had bone, rock, metal, anything that could rip flesh, until His back looked more like hamburger than human flesh. Then, weak and bleeding a cross was laid on His back and He was forced to walk through the city of Jerusalem. However, He was so much human that the beating and blood loss made Him to weak to carry His burden and another was forced into service to take it the rest of the way.

The destination was a hill called Golgotha, or “The place of the skull.” Here He was stripped of His clothing and laid on the cross He was too weak to carry. Once in position the Roman soldiers stretched one arm out along the cross member of this device of death and drove a railroad spike sized nail through his hand. After repeating this operation with the other hand one foot was placed on top of the other and a nail was hammered through and into the wood of the upright part of the cross. After it was hoisted into a standing position it was dropped into a hole with a sudden jerk when it hit bottom and then was braced so it would remain upright.

After hanging on this rough hewn cross for hours, hanging there in agony beyond any of our imaginations Jesus uttered three glorious words. “It is finished.” In these words lies the true meaning of Christmas. In these words lies the greatest event in all of human history. You see the thing that was finished was paying the debt each of us owed to God. Paid in full was the sin debt we accumulated in our lives. Jesus never sinned, you and I have. He shed His blood so you and I might live with God throughout all of eternity. We are incapable of paying the price to clear us of the sins we have committed but Jesus, God’s Son, has such love for us that He gave His life to pay what we could not. This is the magic, the glory of Christmas. It is not, and never has been in any celebration or ceremony man has created.

So remember, when you think of Christmas, when you think of all those special things that surround this unique holiday don’t forget that when He was on that cross, YOU were on His mind.

Greetings loyal readers (both of you). I want to dedicate this weeks post to a very special young lad named Tommy. Tommy lives in Oregon and helped inspire me to write this column.

No big gripes or profound observations this week. Just a thought or two that is close to my heart. Let me preface these thoughts with the statement that computers are cool, groovy, far out, boffo, neat or whatever lingo is the norm today for indicating I like them a lot.

With that said let me now say that computers have presented what I think is a significant problem, especially for our young people. What with everything ever known or imagined by mankind, as well as a few things that seem beyond imagination being on "the net" many of our younger folks have lost the need and desire to just sit down and read a book. Granted, when it comes to doing research for a paper due next Tuesday or looking for good information on buying anything from a new house to a ream of paper, computers are great. I use it almost everyday for that very purpose myself. However, when it comes down to just relaxing with a good novel, the computer is the pits!

Did you ever try and put a real bookmark on an LCD screen? Trust me it just won't work. How about folding down the corner of a computer screen? Don't! It doesn't work very well either. Try underlining a favorite passage on a computer. Sure you can underline what you write, but when it comes to someone else's work, forget it. Pull out the old magic marker and underline your favorite passage and at first all seems fine. Then when you go on to the next page you have to read through the lines you just made. Not only that, when it comes to erasing them there is no good method. Seems most of what you try either does nothing or ruins the screen. The one good thing I can say came out of my experience reading on a computer is that I learned something. Computer screens and whiteout do not work well together. Please trust me on this, the details are just too horrendous to go into.

Now back to the main topic, reading. Our young people have to a great extent become lost in computers of one type or another. Desk or lap tops for their research, mail, communication and even record keeping. For entertainment it is various computer game systems such as X Box or Nintendo. I am not saying that these games are not fun and entertaining, just that they have almost eliminated the use of imagination. Everything is done or created for the user, leaving them to just push buttons and move the control stick.

When was the last time you saw a person under the age of thirty set down and enjoy a well written book? To loose themselves in a story that although given many many details, still required them to create the picture in whatever manner they chose, within their own mind? Despite the wonder that computers are can it possibly compare to the marvel of the mind? The limitless possibilities that exist in a few billion cells of gray matter?

Im my most recent trips through the pages of a book, I have been carried back to the 1830's, working my way through the rocky mountains in the dead of winter searching for the illusive beaver, visited the planet Vulcan and listened to the wisdom of T'pou, and taken a trip to the deep south of the 1930's and watched a futile struggle for an oppressed people. As useful as it is, as much as we depend on them, a computer simply cannot provide the up close and personal experience as rewarding as flipping the pages of a book.

I am not asking that the computer be laid aside or be relegated to no more than a tool for our more mundane task. It offers its own types of entertainment and rewarding times. I am merely asking that the young people take the time to visit some other time and place courtesy of a good book. If you know some young man or woman that has yet to experience the joy of reading, do them a favor, do our society a favor and buy them a book. There is no way you can go wrong when joining a young mind with the world of literature. It is a win win situation.

Doc's Office

Sorry it has been so long since my last post but lack of creativity and time has taken its toll. I was going to write and post this item a few days ago but decided it was best to wait till I had cooled down a bit.

There was a comment in a recent local news story about pastors encouraging their congregation to be sure and vote while being careful to not even sound like they were endorsing any particular issue or candidate. They are afraid of their church loosing its tax exempt status if they do. Keeping quiet so you don't hurt your finances? That's leading God's flock? That's setting an example to our neighbors? That's being His servant? That's making sure His will and His principles guide all that we do? Yeah, and I just flew around this room on angel's wings!

Throughout biblical history God and God's people have been involved in government. God chose the kings of Israel. He has told up plainly that the government we have is the one He allows, the one He ordains. How do we expect to have a good government, a Godly government unless we stand up and fight for it? We are told in God's word, we should support our government, support and pray for our leaders. Then comes the American judicial system that thinks it is best to keep the two separate.

Our founding fathers never said this is the way it should be. Nowhere in our constitution does it say one word about separation of church and state. This is a phrase from some private communications of Thomas Jefferson and others of the time. If it had any validity in the realm of constitutional law, if it was intended to be a guiding principle, it would have been written in the constitution or some other formal regulatory document. It was never intended to be any part of our law and so it was deliberately left out, thoughtfully omitted by our countries founders.

So why do we follow this concept so adamantly today? Because the extreme left wing liberals want the church totally surprised, to have no voice in the affairs our our country. To make matters worse it is the church that has let them have their way without even a whimper. Those that are trying to turn this nation into a vast moral and spiritual wasteland have decided that God should be thrown out of America and the church, God's messengers on earth, have stepped aside and let them quietly pass by.

It is time, no well past time that the church developed a spine and stood up and said NO MORE! No more will we be quiet, no longer will we be pushed aside like yesterdays garbage! It is time the church stood and proclaimed loud and long God's word, God's message, God's desire to be a part of each life and each country. It is time that we stood as a people, as God's representative and told the liberal devils that God is a part of this country and always has been. This country does not face the problems it does because of bad economic decisions, because of weakness in defenses, because of weak national security, because we are at war. It has the problems it does because we have crawled into a hole and allowed Satan's servants to win the day. We as a body have allowed ourselves to become the doormat of the liberal fools who are out to destroy us.

The only question that matters now is what, if anything, do we do to change it? It's quite simple. We get up out of the mud, stand tall and straight and scream NO LONGER! We must get in the face of our enemies and let them know their day is over and ours is starting. We must have the courage to defy their laws, the courage to stand and do Gods will and not mans will. We must make sure they understand that they can try to regulate us all they want but first and foremost we will follow God's law and ignor theirs.

God's people have a duty to speak out for Him and His principles in all situations at all times. If something is not within the guiding principles of His word, if it breaks His law, we should speak out long and loud about it. When something or someone is wrong we must unabashedly point them out and let all know they are wrong. Ignoring wrong, pretending it is not our concern, not within our sphere of concern is taking the cowards way out. It is telling the world we have no convictions, we have no ideals to follow, no sincerety in our beliefe, and that we totally lack courage. We are God's representatives, His ambasadors in this world and we have the obligation to stand for His principles not matter what the people serving God's enemies tell us. God determined long ago what is right and what is wrong, and gave us His word, the Bible, to let us know exactly what fits where. To compare what is happening to His word and seeing it is wrong is not judgemental, it is simply following His instructions. The only thing that keeps someone from saying wrong is wrong is cowardice. Simply being more afraid of what man thinks of us than we are in love with our God and Savior.

The church must speak up for God. We must stop being the clown in the circus and become the ring master, proclaiming for all to hear that God is the star, the bright and shining star lighting the way to a better world. At least, that is what those with a true love of God will do.

Good News – Bad News

Have you ever read an article and expected to find a big “Gotcha” at the end? My wife gave me one she down loaded from the net and I read through it I kept hoping that that’s what would happen. Unfortunately it didn’t and that is the crux of the story for this week. Good news bad news is more of a polite introduction than accurate description of what we need to talk about this week.

The good news part, and it is indeed a small part, is that the United States doesn’t have an exclusive right to heartless and mindless judges. Just this past week, Mr. Justice Hedley, a judge on the High court of England ruled that an eleven month old baby would not be resuscitated, despite her parent’s wishes that the innocent baby be given the chance to fight for life.

It must be said that she has many significant medical problems, not the least of which is, according to the doctors she can neither see nor hear. Although she has lived eleven months since being born fourteen weeks premature, and needs constantly to be in an incubator with increased oxygen due to sever breathing difficulties, the judge ruled that the next time she stops breathing (which will likely be due to an infection she does not yet have), the doctors must make no attempt to revive her.
This is despite the fact that her parents, devoted Christians, begged and pleaded with the judge, the doctors, and anyone else that would listen, that the child be allowed to fight for life. They know the chances of her winning that fight are slim, but knowing God can and does work miracles, wanted not to interfere and let His wisdom and her will to live make the choice. The parade of doctors the hospital paraded through the court room claim that Charlotte is profoundly mentally and physically handicapped and suffers a “terrible quality of life.” Perhaps this is true, but since none of these doctors have been inside of her mind, have been unable to feel and experience what she does, how can they claim to know what her life is like.

The judge, saying he was “uncomfortable” with the decision, quoted the doctors grim predictions as he made his pronouncement of death for the baby, and totally ignored the wishes and testimony of the parents. Despite the fact Charlotte can and does grip their finger as the parents reach out to touch her and that she derived comfort from their presence and when they hold her, ignored them and ruled in favor of the hospital and doctors.

As Christians Charlotte’s parents believe that life should be preserved at all cost but the judge seemed to take no notice of their convictions. I say seemed because knowing how England has as a country gone over to the side of evil, a ruling against Christian parents must raise at least a little suspicion. It cannot be said with certainty that the judge ruled as he did because the parents are disciples of Jesus, but it most certainly cannot be dismissed as a possibility.

Knowing the child responds to her parents presence and touch, that she has survived for eleven months with the same difficulties she has had since birth, that the doctors differed in their guesses as to her chances for survival from less than one percent to as high as one chance in four, he ruled to let her die. Why? One reason he claimed is that “inherent in each of us is a deep desire, both for oneself and for those we love, for a ‘good’ death.” If it is planned and not allowed to happen on God’s schedule, if it is hastened by lack of treatment, if it is based on assumptions and not definitive knowledge of how the dying person actually feels, how can it possibly be “good?”

As Charlotte, Helen Keller could neither see nor hear and yet the contributions he made to the world are still being experienced by countless people. Had this judge been asked, perhaps she to would have been “allowed” to die, depriving the world of a courageous woman of God. A woman, who stands as an example of strength, courage, determination, and devotion to her Creator many years after a death on God’s time table, not mans.

With decisions like this plaguing the courts of the world what will be next? Downs syndrome babies euthanized because of their “quality” of life is less than what the courts think is acceptable? Will we withhold nutrition and water from the newborn who’s DNA shows he has a likelihood of developing Alzheimer’s sixty or seventy years in the future? Will it go so far as to prescribe euthanasia for the couple’s third daughter because she is not the son the parents wanted? Or perhaps we as a people will decide it would be better to “peacefully” end the existence of the baby who although deprived of oxygen for a few moments will have an IQ not quite at an acceptable level in our society?

The possibilities are endless as to what hedonistic tendencies such as Mr. Justice Hedley has demonstrated can lead to. I alluded to the idea earlier that the decision to ignore the Christian parents could have been based at least in part on the fact of their Christianity. This may sound a bit far fetched I know, but allow me leave you with these words of our Savior: “They will put out of the synagogue; in fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God." John 16:2 NIV

Greetings everyone. I'm sorry I didn't post anything last week but school is keeps me so busy sometimes I have trouble remembering who I am. I finally did and realized I'd let all of you down. Well, I hope you were disappointed anyway.

I thought this week I'd just make a few observations about this and that. Last time I did post I said a few things that the church of Rome may not have been happy with so I'll keep it a little bit tamer this time. I'm still waiting for the catholic Gestapo to show up and discuss the matter with me in the alley out back.

My wife told me a few minutes ago that Burkes Peerage says that John Kerry is a descendent of Mohammed. I wonder if that means he is a murdering, plundering, child molesting bigamist like Mohammed was? Doesn't really matter I guess, after loosing next month he will hopefully fade into the wood work like so many other unsuccessful candidates of the past. On the serious side, if he has so many great plans to make everything better why doesn't he have the guts to outline what those plans are? Kind of the old put up or shut up idea.

Must admit that I was disappointed in the debate Thursday night. Not that it was all that bad or anything, but I don't think that either candidate scored a real victory. Kerry kept up his vague hints at having some real thoughts and Bush just held his own. I was really hoping that Bush would have "hit a home run" in a manner of speaking. That he would have scored enough points on the old "candidate choice" meter to pull all of the undecideds off the fence. Not to sure that happened. In fact I doubt that anyone was influenced one way or the other.

I hear that Al Gore published a column in the New York Times on how Kerry should debate Bush. Now there's a great idea. Take advice from the looser. Wouldn't it have been more appropriate for Gore to write a "Don't let this happen to you." piece? Maybe he did take the advice and that's why he couldn't state anything with real meaning, just more vague hints at ideas and no substance. It was a shame though that he lost that pretty orange color he had a few days before. It would at least have added a bit of a bright spot in the evenings festivities.

On to another subject. Can anyone explain to me why the Iraqi citizens are putting up with these crazed and spineless insurgents? All of these guys must be graduates of the gutless wonders Military Academy. Just last week they set of three bombs near U.S. troops and a new water station being dedicated. What did these brave "freedom" fighters accomplish? They killed 31 children all of whom I'm sure were a direct threat to them. You would think the rest of the people of that country would be more than happy to point out just who these fools are to the American troops or Iraqi authorities. You know, a simple "There's one of the slime bag baby killers now, arrest him."

This may sound a bit mean but when we do arrest them we should incarcerate them in a very special prison facility. I picture it as having only one level and many cells for individual prisoners with individual exercise yards outside of each cell. All equipped for just two prisoners, one Islamic "freedom" fighter and one three-hundred pound hog. Either the pig (the four legged one) or the brave "freedom" fighter could come and go from the exercise area as they chose. We would have to make sure we served them nothing but the best of cuisine of course, bacon and eggs for breakfast, BLT's for lunch, and ham for dinner. Another benefit of this prison design would be that the hog could teach the "freedom" fighter how to behave like a civilized human being. Of course we would have to take all steps necessary to make sure the "freedom" fighter didn't contaminate the hog in anyway. Don't want the people from PETA coming down on us.

Evil Claims Another Victim

My wife gave me an article tonight from the Toronto Sun and written by Michael Coren. In it, Mr. Coren speaks of his "return" to the Catholic Church. Many of you have probably just said "So" if not out loud at least in your mind. Granted, from many perspectives this could seem to be an event worthy of little note outside of the people immediately affected such as Mr. Coren, his immediate family and of course, his priest. The truth is however that events like this deserve much more attention than they routinely receive. You see, Mr. Coren did not merely join the Catholic church, he returned to the church, not after falling away into sin and depravity but after accepting the truth of Evangelical Christianity. Mr. Coren had for ten years lived, preached, and accepted true biblical Christianity rather that the fallacies of catholicism. Granted, the possibility of his falling victim to their false teachings was greater than for the majority of Evangelical Christians. Apparently he had been baptized into the Roman faith some twenty years ago. With this background it is far easier for Satan to lure someone with such heresy when all he has to do is keep stirring up old memories.

Some may be asking "So, what's the big deal?" or "As long as he's sincere what does it matter which church he belongs to?" It's simple, when a person with access to the public on the scale of a paper the size of the Toronto Sun, then the danger comes in the number of falsehoods and lies he can spread to a massive and unsuspecting readership in the guise of religious "truth." For hundreds of years the Catholics have proclaimed themselves the only true church. That the pope is the only personal representative of Christ on earth. That the pope is the only one that can speak on behalf of God. The fact that not one of these claims has one word of scripture to prove them to be true seems irrelevant to them. Just the fact that they say it is supposed to be enough for all who hear.

These are but a few of the countless false teachings of the roman church. Beyond these they promote Madonna worship, bowing a knee in reverence to statues, and countless rituals that closer resemble cultic practices than scriptural truths. Beyond these there is much in the history of the followers of the pope that are nothing short of evil personified. During the crusades they had an evangelism methodology that was simplicity at its finest. Rather than actually preach the gospel they asked one simple question, "Would you like to be a Christian or be dead?" It seemed to save them a lot of work such as preaching the true gospel, demonstrating Christ's love through deeds and actions, or reaching out to people in need. During the inquisition they had another simple way of making sure people followed their teachings. They could either adhere to strict catholic doctrine or be executed. If anyone stepped over the fine line they expected all to adhere to, or was even accused of doing so, irregardless of proof, that person could be hung, burned at the stake, or some other "compassionate" method of ending a human life.

What of more recent history? We all remember of course the endless news stories of pedophile priests, of the cover up, the lies, but this is not the only evil practice of the pope's followers in recent history. As World War II came to an end in Europe, the roman church looked to Germany for those that had been a leader and participant in the slaughter of six million of God's chosen people. They didn't look on in outrage or disgust but rather with desire to help. Was it the survivors of the holocaust they desired to help? No, it was the Nazi leaders who survived that benefited from the pope's generosity. They served justice by giving these mass murderers money, false identities, transportation and whatever else they needed to escape justice and live a life of leisure in other parts of the world. As Christians we need to pray and pray and pray that God will keep the popish cult under tight control, that he will keep them from dragging any more victims into their pit of darkness. There is no doubt that every time a person is lured into their evil worship it is a tragedy of Biblical proportions.

Nothing To Say?

Last week I expressed a few thoughts about witnessing and the Holy Spirit. This week I'd like to mention a few thoughts about good ways to spread the gospel.
We are called to be witnesses for Jesus and of His works and Kingdom. It's funny sometimes what people think witnessing means. Some seem to think it is something the pastor is supposed to do between Sunday's(you know, to fill all that free time he has). He gets a good salary so why shouldn't he be the one to do all that preacher type stuff. Others think it is only those who have been through some special course on witnessing. You know the ones I mean, they spend three or four nights learning all the scriptures and all of that churchy talk so they can sound professional. And a lot of people, most Christians actually, think there is only one person qualified to tell others of Jesus Christ. To spread the word of the salvation He bought with His blood, and they are very specific as to who this special person is. SOMEONE ELSE!
No matter the situation, no matter who it is that needs the gospel, no matter the circumstances, the only person responsible for witnessing is someone else. Problem is that no matter who we think someone else is, someone else thinks it is someone else that should be a witness. See the problem here? No matter who someone else is they are waiting for someone else to do be a witness. When someone else is supposed to do it, it never gets done. When it doesn't get done, people die without the gospel and spend eternity in hell. There is no need for this, no reason why every person on earth has not heard the gospel.
You see, Jesus didn't ask us to become Bible scholars, He didn't say we needed to memorize five thousand verses of scripture and sixteen commentaries just so we'd be ready to answer any question that could ever be asked. All He asked is that we be His witness's. If you'll flash back to all the lawyer shows you've watced, you'll know that the only thing a witness is asked to do is tell the things he has seen and heard. Just tell others what Jesus has done, what He is doing for you and through you. People can't argue with what you have experienced. They cannot deny that you experienced miracles in your life, they cannot make a lie out of the love you feel everyday as you commune with Him in private. They cannot pretend you don't exist and that what you say is just a story. You lived it, you felt it, you saw it! That is all you have to talk about. Tell others what you have experienced because of your saving relationship with God's only Son.
If you feel you have never experienced a miracle in your life, never been the recipient of His intervention in your life, then get on your knees right now and speak to Him. Let Him remind you of just how blessed your life has been.

Get Up, Get Going! You've Had The Invitation For Years!

Greetings, this is my first posting so I thank you for being one of my first readers. I hope you find this interesting and even inspiring enough to come back at least once a week. Now, on with what's on my mind.Just this past week, while talking with one of my college professors about witnessing, I mentioned I like to witness every chance I can. He made some comment about never having felt the leading of the Holy Spirit on such a regular basis. I told him that from time to time it was his responsibility to ask the Holy Spirit to come with him, rather than wait till he was kicked in the butt to get going. The poor man paled to an unbelieveable off white/grayish tint and told me he'd never heard such a statement. I truly felt sorry for him. Reaching the age of fifty plus and still not understanding the Great Commission. Trully an unfortunate situation for him.In Matthew 28:19 Jesus says it clearly enough. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations..." (NIV) We have already been given the commission, our marching orders so to speak so why do people feel they must wait for a specific invitation in each and every situation before witnessing of the love of God for mankind? Would you have prefered that the person that introduced you to Jesus had done that?No one is unaware of how bad conditions are in this world. People living in Satan's grip killing thousands in the name of God, drug dealers more prevelant than super markets, deviant sex being taught as a normal way of life in our schools, and on and on. Still, good, God fearing, God loving Christians feel their job is to sit in a corner and make braids out of the phone cord while waiting for God's personal call before doing His work.Jesus made it quite clear in Acts 1:8 that as soon as the Holy Spirit comes upon us that we will have power to be His witness to the fartherest corners of the earth. Now, since we know that the Spirit is ours the instant we genuinely recieve Jesus as our savior, then the power we need is already ours. The idea of waiting for a specific invitation, of just waiting in idleness while countless lost souls go into eternity without Jesus, is not of God, and whatever is not of God is of Satan.Well, what if we're not supposed to talk to a particular person right then about Jesus? Remember when Paul wanted to head into Asia to spread the gospel but the Holy Spirit prevented them from going. If any of us should get ahead of God's plan, or His will, the Holy Spirit will let us know and send us in the direction we should go. In the mean time, why not fulfill the commision given to us two thousand years ago by Jesus Himself, and go forth and make disciples. What have you got to loose.
